The phpgw_contact_note table is currently available in 0.9.16 acess via the GUI should be included in 0.9.18

All contacts are now stored in phpgw_contact% tables. This was done as part of the separation of persons and orgs

A patch could be developed for you. This would not be officially supported. Email me - skwashd phpgroupware.org if you wish to discuss this futher.

Do I understand this right, the phpgw_contact_note table will be available in 0.9.18 and the phpgw_addressbook table will be dropped in 0.9.18?

So all the contacts are actually stored in the phpgw_contact* tables?

So it's better for us to wait till the 0.9.18 release, because we won't be able to use the notes till then?

This will not be fixed in the stable version of phpgroupware. It is a new feature. The functionality was not included as it was available during the final RC cycle. The functionality should be available in the 0.9.18 release.

The phpgw_addressbook table will be dropped as part of the 0.9.18 upgrade process. It was retained in 16 to prevent data loss during upgrades.

I am closing this bug report as there is already a feature request for it.

We are extensively using the notes input box of the addressbook in version 0.9.14.006, which has been removed in the current version (because of infolog support probably).

After upgrading to the latest version, the "notes" field is still present in the phpgw_addressbook database. The contents is also copied into the phpgw_contact_note table.

Although it is possible to search within the notes - by uncommenting the line "array('note', 'Note Data')," in the addressbook/inc/class.uiaddressbook.inc.php - it is still not possible to view or edit the notes (neither by opening the contact, nor by looking into the info log).

For me this is a bug rather than a feature request, because it's a feature that got lost. Not being able to view or edit the "old" notes is a reason for not upgrading to the new version, which seems to be much better in general (not including the addressbook).

See also support #103054 (which has been moved to the support category).
