I believe this is fixed in CVS ... certainly it works fine for me (but then, I'm playing with a variety of experimental configurations).
Could you test it please?

Some of the values, particularly GNUSTEP_LOCAL_ROOT are not being set up correctly which is causing fonts not to be found. I have backed up the version of NSPathUtilities.m in Source to a version prior to the recent changes and it works correctly.
