Stow should never delete files it doesn't own, and I cannot see any code which would cause this. If you can reproduce this behaviour, please reopen this and provide steps and as much debug information as you can - thanks.

I used stow 1.3.3 to stow a package. Unstowing failed, because stow tried to delete files not related to the stowed package and not belonging to my user account.

That makes no sense to me. Unfortunately I don't know Perl ...
