We've moved to GRUB 2 as a development platform. Unfortunately, GRUB 2 doesn't have network support yet, although there's ongoing work to implement it. If you want to help on that, please contact <grub-devel@gnu.org>.

In the meantime, this bug doesn't apply. I'm closing it.

Have a look at the following more general NIC driver update (still depending on #8061 ): http://debian.jones.dk/hykrion/pool-etch/sid-jones/grub/debian/patches/nic-drivers_updated_to_eb5.3.15.diff

Just changing the PCI ID has been tested didn't work :-(. Broadcom and Intel are updating their NIC chip continually ---- it's really difficult to keep up with them. :-(
Have you ever tried the UNDI driver for grub? Just copy etherboot's UNDI driver will not work. For details to see bug[#9408]. There is an additional patch for 'grub-0.95-diskless-patch-2' to add UNDI support.

I tried to copy undi.[c|h] from current etherboot(no problem in compile, ld error undi_driver not defined( I don't have enought c link skill :-(). Is anybody here can give me some hints please.
