Please read the manual. This is what the -print0 action of find and the -0 option of xargs are for. You can also use "find .... -exec ... {} +".

I am thinking that this might make a good command line option.

I often wish to use a combination of find and xargs on a filesystem which has numerious files with spaces in their names.

If find would preceed each filename space by a backslash then I would be able to run commands like "find . | args egrep NAME" on my filesystem.
