this patch has been integrated into windowmaker 0.92.
I haven't tried it yet though.

I can confirm that applying the patch to WindowMaker resolved this bug. Thanks!

while i can't argue that this is a bug
this is a windowmaker problem,
patch has been sent to their list, but i never got a reply

this has been integrated into both gentoo and debian at least

When a GNUstep application has no open windows, it loses current "frontmost" or "active" status, and the menu vanishes too. (Other behaviour is strange)

I am using WindowMaker 0.91.0 with no further configuration, GNUstep CVS from today.

To replicate using ProjectCenter (other apps display the same behaviour):

Open Terminal and create a new terminal window.
Open ProjectCenter.
Click on "Project" menu.
Click on "Project" menu again (not the submenu, just collapse the submenu)

The ProjectCenter menu vanishes, Terminal moves into the foreground. Sometimes, a number of the ProjectCenter menu items remain -beneath- the Terminal menu.
