Sat 03 Sep 2005 10:38:32 AM UTC, comment #1: Temporary workaround: since the characters are output unchanged when stdout is not a terminal, you can do this to achieve the same effect: find ....... -print \| cat piping the output through cat simply works around the real problem, which is the lack of adequate control over what find is doing. Tue 07 Jun 2005 07:32:39 PM UTC, original submission: Currently (in the development code) find will hide control characters when stdout (or the output file for -fprint and friends) is a tty. We should have options to control this default (e.g. turn it fully on or fully off). Similarly for locate. Suggestion from Dmitry V. Levin.	James Youngman <jay>
