I would argue that this isn't a bug but a feature request. Please file a feature request over at https://savannah.gnu.org/support/?group=phpgroupware if you would like this feature to be considered for possible inclusion in a future version of phpgw.

Linking feeds from feed burner back to feedburner.com seems perfectly acceptable to me.

The headlines system seems to assume that the XML file containing the data for the feed will be in a subpath of the Base URL -- that is, the Base URL should be a link to the full HTML version of the news in the feed. This isn't necessarily the case -- the RSS feed might be stored in a different directory tree or might be accessible via a completely different URL entirely. For example, some sites use a third-party site like FeedBurner (http://www.feedburner.com/) to publish their news as RSS.
