In a similar vein, "I have noticed similar improbabl. rolls..." and it was happening constantly. Then I changed the random generator to random.org and it is like playing a different game. Previously I had used Mersenne Twister (I suppose the default setting in this version), seed 20542136.

I have noticed similar improbabl rolls. Often, when on the bar, if I roll a combination that does not allow me in, that identical roll will be repeated three or four times.

I thought pseudo-random number are simple algorithms, at least for the first few hundred thousand rolls. What is the problem here?

Next time this happens, can you save the game and report the random number genrator used and the random seed. The random generator used and the seed can be found by selecting Settings->Options...->Dice

Also note: Rolling a double from the bar with a closed board is not unlucky ;-)

'm sorry. This can't be random. I just rolled 6 consecutive doubles while on the bar and 8 of 10 total rolls were doubles while on the bar. At one point, there were a combined 5 consecutive doubles counting my rolls and the computer's rolls. And of the 12 rolls while not on the bar, all 12 were non-double. Also, the standard probability of rolling a 6 or 8 on two dice is roughly 13.9% each or 27.8% of the time total. Of the 22 rolls, I rolled 6 6s and 6 8s - nearly 64% of the time...and this is just once game. I have noticed an inordinate number of time when I get stuck on the bar, all of a sudden I start rolling doubles like there's no tomorrow. And I would call that bad luck. But when I pull up the game analysis, it makes no such designation of the dice rolls.
