You can add some noise to the settings, to get gnubg to play a lot worse.

Depending on the type of game you played gnubg can still play at a very high level.

I like the idea of a slider which changes the settings to match the rating you pick.

I have two theories how this could have happend. I're either havent set the playing strength to "Beginner" or you have analysed with a beginner setting as well as played with it.

Setting the playing strength is done by selecting Settings->Players... from the menu. Are you sure you didn't change the setting under Settings->Evaluation? (This is a common error and the interface should clearify this.)

When setting Gnubg on beginner it never loses. Any explanation why this happens? It makes expert moves most every time. Doesn't appear that the average player will ever beat the game. Losing every single time won't make average player better don't you think. Game should lose more when set to beginner level. It appears also the random number generator seems to know what numbers it will generate several moves in advance. Not exactly random now is it? How can the Gnubg know way in advance to double if numbers are random?

Seems Statistics dont lie. These settings were on casual play for Gnubg. Hardly casual I would say. More like expert moves if you ask me.
