There is a NullPointer Exception at line
"toolkitWindow.SendBeginInvoke(i_gch);"
in method BeginInvoke(Delegate method, Object[] args) of System.Windows.Forms/Control.cs
The exception occurs if the control's handle does not exist when calling BeginInvoke(..).

I did a quick hack to solve the problem:
create the handle if necessary.

if( null == toolkitWindow )
CreateHandle();

lock(this)
toolkitWindow.SendBeginInvoke(i_gch);
