Can you please retry with a more recent RPM?
If you still get a crash, please give me the output of

texmacs --debug-all

Installed rpm (TeXmacs-1.0.4.2-1.i386.rpm) on a Fedora COre 1 system. Install went OK. On first run, after
Installation completed successfully !
I will now start up the editor
