Hi Chris !

Agree ! We should try a local Kallithea instance on the Amsterdam community server, as the community development and repository for GNU Health.

Let's find sometime on IRC, so we start working on this much needed server.

Best,
Luis

No worries! I'm traveling at the moment, too, so forgive my late response. Hehe. =-)

I like the idea of an hg installation on the community server! We could think about something more robust, like Kallithea (https://kallithea-scm.org). But an hg install should cover the basics. =-)

Later on, I'm wondering that maybe, using subrepos, people can delevop on their own but we can link to their repos from the community repo. It just seems easier than forcing people to develop on the server. Although, that seems a design choice we can figure out.

Thanks!

Hi, Chris !

Sorry for the late response. Have been a long travel :)

Thanks for your sharing your thoughts. I've been through the same as you have, and I agree on your view.

How about setting up a Hg repository in the community server that we currently have in Amsterdam ?

Let me know your thoughts.

Best.
Luis

I've been thinking on this goal more and more recently, especially since I would like to find an external home for the independent fhir code.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe savannah doesn't do sub-project setups like what we would need. Also, I'm wary of SF considering its recent... behaviour. Github, Bitbucket, etc. are corporate-y, so that seems unlikely. I'm not extensively familiar with other foss forge hosts.

Self-hosting seems to be another option. For example, a trac installation on the community server, or something similar, like gitlab. I would be fine running the community forge installation on one of my servers for now. Although, that seems a temporary solution.

Thoughts?

We need to set up a repository of modules coming from the community.

The goal is to have a centralized forge where the community can upload modules.
