Hi,

I evaluated your project and, as there are no problems with it,
am going to approve it. I'm very sorry for the delay. If it's too late and you don't need the hosting capabilities any more, please tell me.

Happy hacking :)

Registration Details

  • Name: phoseg
  • System Name:  phoseg
  • Type: non-GNU software & documentation
  • License: GNU General Public License v3 or later

Description:
  • Phoseg is a module for (and written with) Python 3.2+ licensed under the GPL3.
  • Phoseg aims to store and analyse phonetic segments described with the IPA (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/IPA).
  • Phoseg uses a database describing each IPA character; you can read directly this database, build complex phonemes objects, build syllables objects, and so on.
  • Phoseg allows to roughly analyse these objects : e.g. is this phoneme nasal or oral ? has this syllable the "CVC" structure ?
  • Phoseg allows an automatic syllabication using the SSP (Sonority Sequencing Principle)
  • the documentation is written with Sphinx in French and in English
  • Phoseg is based on the book Principles of Phonetics, by John Laver

Other Software Required:

(none : the database used in this project has been made by myself; its source is a text file given in the same directory)
