Sorry,

A mistake in my previous message: the shell scripts (removal.sh repository.sh setup.sh) do have copyright and license notice - but they are "GPLv3" (only) and not "GPLv3 or later".

Hello,

Thank you for the update.

To host a project on GNU Savannah, it must comply with the hosting
requirements:
http://savannah.gnu.org/register/requirements.php
http://savannah.gnu.org/maintenance/HowToGetYourProjectApprovedQuickly/

One requirement is that the source code must be compatible for current and future versions of the GPL, by using license notices such as "GPLv3 or later".
The following files contain the GPLv3 license notice, but do not have the "or later" clause - please amend them. The most common form is:
This program is free software: you can redistribute it and/or modify
it under the terms of the GNU General Public License as published by
the Free Software Foundation, either version 3 of the License, or
(at your option) any later version.

See here for more details:
  http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html

The files are:
   ./usr/share/vlist-player/CustomGtk.py
   ./usr/share/vlist-player/CustomOs.py
   ./usr/share/vlist-player/CustomParser.py
   ./usr/share/vlist-player/Paths.py
   ./usr/share/vlist-player/PyGobject_vlc.py
   ./usr/share/vlist-player/SeriesAndVideos.py
   ./usr/share/vlist-player/Texts.py
   ./usr/share/vlist-player/vlist-player.py

Another minor issue is that few small files do not have a copyright statement
or a license notice ( removal.sh  repository.sh  setup.sh ./usr/share/vlist-player/val.sh).
It is highly recommended that all files carry a copyright statement and a
license notice.
If you prefer not to apply the AGPL to these files, consider applying the GNU
"all permissive license", as explained here:
http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/License-Notices-for-Other-Files.html

Also, there are four PNG image files in ./usr/share/vlist-player/images.
If those images were created by you, please add a copyright notice and a license for these images, either embedded in the files, or in a README file.
If these files were copied from another project, please list the appropriate copyright and license for them in a README file.

Regards,
 - Assaf

Hello Rafael,

Thank you for submitting a new project to host on GNU Savannah.

To host a project on GNU Savannah, it must comply with the hosting
requirements:
http://savannah.gnu.org/register/requirements.php
http://savannah.gnu.org/maintenance/HowToGetYourProjectApprovedQuickly/

In order to verify those requirements, the source code of the project is needed, with the files as you intend to host them on GNU Savannah (as opposed to the pre-built package that can be installed on users' system).

Please upload an archive (e.g. tar.gz file) containing the files of the project, together with any additional files which are required to build it and prepare the package (e.g. the 'setup.py' as is common in python packages).

Regards,
 - Assaf

Registration Administration

While this item will be useful to track the registration process, approving or discarding the registration must be done using the specific Group Administration page, accessible only to site administrators, effectively logged as site administrators (superuser):

Registration Details

  • Name: Video List Player
  • System Name:  vlist-player
  • Type: non-GNU software and documentation
  • License: GNU General Public License v2 or later

Description:

Create advanced video playlists.

This package allows you to create playlists from folders containing videos.

The program has options like playing randomly, by order, save the progress of your last episode, etc.. If you are one
of those who still downloading videos from the Internet instead of watching on streaming this package is definitely for you!

Other Software Required:

python2.7, python-vlc, x11-utils, exo-utils, libgtk-3-0

All the packages are official packages of any GNU-Linux distribution except python-vlc which is an script mantained by the vlc team.

http://wiki.videolan.org/python_bindings

I built a package with this script called python-vlc diponible on my website:

http://rsm.imap.cc/software/python-vlc.html

But this dependence may be removed if necessary.

Other Comments:

The package is distributed as a Debian package to make easy for the users to install. If anyone want to check the source just extract the package. This may also be useful to install it under Fedora/Arch or any other GNU-Linux system.
