Hi,

Sorry, this request was closed, you need to resubmit the project from https://savannah.gnu.org/register/

Can you do that?

Thanks.

I added http://www.yawiki.org/pak.zip

That contains the full source code, and some installation notes. It also contains the client side.

it should be ALOT closer now.

I am sorry about taking forever, but I didn't want to submit something that was not useful to people, and or had errors and other problems. I suppose I am a bit of a perfectionist.

It still has a few problems, but they should have a good starting point. I'll continue to update this project, and I will keep the pak.zip current.

suitable tar files are in the near future.
Thanks again for your patience.

I saw that no new project "Yawiki" was submitted. If you would like to show me your new source code, please make a tarball and attach it to this tracker item.

If your (new) request was already submitted and I missed it or if it is still under work then forget these lines...

Hi,

This submission is quite old Sebastian cannot follow its progress right now. Can you resubmit the project when you are ready?

Thanks.

We're almost prepared to do a GNU release.

The rich client will not be released under GNU terms yet. That is because it is not ready. A newer server will be released. This is original code.

What is involved in doing a release?

We're finishing up our search engine (right now it is using google), and I don't know the correct procedure for doing a release.

Hello.

At first, I don't see your JWS problem. I can have a look at the Swing license but where is the JWS one? Where it its webpage?

At second, if you want to use Java in your project, you must determine whether your project can run on a Free Software Java suite
(see http://www.gnu.org/software/java/ for more information).

We recommend you to test your project using GCJ and GNU Classpath, and ensure
that your Java code runs on this Free Software Java suite.

GCJ is the GNU Compiler for Java, part of the GCC (GNU Compiler Collection).
The Classpath project aims to develop a free and portable implementation of the Java API
(the classes in the 'java' package).

More information is available at http://gcc.gnu.org/ and http://www.gnu.org/software/classpath/ .

Please provide us with more information about this point.

At third, in order to release your project properly and unambiguously under the GPL,
please place copyright notices and permission-to-copy statements at the beginning of every file of source code.

In addition, if you haven't already, please include a copy of the plain text version of the GPL,
available from http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt, into a file named "COPYING".

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html.

The GPL FAQ explains why these procedures must be followed.
To learn why a copy of the GPL must be included with every copy of the code, for example,
see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html#WhyMustIInclude.

At fourth, please remove GIF image files from your project and replace them with an other format (such as PNG or JPEG).

Because of the patents (Unisys and IBM) covering the LZW compression algorithm which are used when making GIF files,
it's impossible to have free software to generate proper GIFs.  These patents also apply to the compress program.

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/gif.html.

Furthermore please include a README file in the directory of your images and write there copyright and license
notices of them down.
See also http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/Copyright-Notices.html

Please provide us with a new tarball.
Regards,

Sebastian Wieseler <kickino>

I posted the files for yawiki, up at http://www.yawiki.org/yawiki.zip.

These are very early files.... but they are current.
The project is changing alot from what you see in the zip.

Hi,
Sorry about the wait. I've been very busy at work lately and did not have as much time as I wanted to devote. However - I am still pushing ahead with everything.

http://www.yawiki.org / http://www.yawiktionary.com will be using a most likely heavily modified version of yawiki - run by Andreas Amecky: http://yawiki.jzonic.org/wiki.jz

There are more tools which are in use, such as free TTS and other GNU projects. (Including wiki itself).

It is a slow process, I apologize for that, but - things are slowly moving forward.

I'm compiling some source code to look at. I think the most useful thing to the community will be raw content files / database dump. The project isnt quite there yet.

Please bare with.

Hi,
I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah.

(the classes in the 'java' package).

More information is available at http://gcc.gnu.org/ and http://www.gnu.org/software/classpath/ .

Please provide us with more information about this point.

At third, please include a (perhaps temporary) URL pointing to the source code.
The description you gave when registering will not be read by the general public.
If you are still concerned with privacy, however, you can forward the code to me by email.

We wish to review your source code, even if it is not functional, to catch potential legal issues early.

For example, to release your program properly under the GPL you must include a copyright notice and
permission-to-copy statements at the beginning of every file of source code.  This is explained in
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html.  Our review would help catch potential omissions such as these.

A new project has been registered at Savannah
The project account will remain inactive until a site admin approve or discard the registration.

######### REGISTRATION ADMINISTRATION #########

While this item will be useful to track the registration process, approving or discarding the registration must be done using the specific "Group Administration" page, accessible only to site administrators, effectively logged as site administrators (superuser):

  <https://savannah.gnu.org/siteadmin/groupedit.php?group_id=8684>

######### REGISTRATION DETAILS #########

Full Name:
----------
  yawiki

System Group Name:
-----------------
  yawiki

Type:
-----
  Official GNU software

License:
--------
GNU General Public License V2 or later

Description:
------------
  yawiki.

The name sais it all. This is a project to fork wiki. I cant count the number of users who have expressed frustration with the amount of
"over wikification" of the current wiki project.

The current release of the content site, is http://www.yawiktionary.com.

I've registered a few domains such as yawiki.org, and yawiktionary.com, net, org and yawikipedia.org, net, com to get the ball rolling.

The source code I have right now is quite horrible, and I will post a link shortly. I am in discussion with yawiki.com to find out if they are willing to go foreward with a fork as well.

My current wiki engine is basically a RWF (Reduced wiki format) But I have some ideas, and some hopes/dreams about how a finished project might look.

One such consideration is multiple file uploads, and a rich client, preferably a JWS, (Java web start) implementation.

Please give your comments and critiques of this project proposal, I just want to do it correctly from the start.

Other Software Required:
------------------------
JWS is a problem because its based on Swing.

The back end should be ok, just java 1.2
