Thank you for reviewing my requiest Steven!

Your message makes it perfectly clear, that Free MultiOS can't be hosted by Savana. I understood before (afther the first message) i would have to look for a alternative and so i signed up with Uitwisselplatform.nl

I am sorry for consuming your time.

Once again thank you!

With kind regards,
Marti van Lin

Hi,

I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah.

Savannah is meant to help developers organize a team and produce code. This mean we provide resources to projects so they can actually manage their project, and we do not host a download area only.

I mention this because I saw you already have (among others) an Uitwisselplatform account.

Also, as mentioned in the registration pages, we do not host complete distros, distros isos, packages repositories, etc, for space and bandwidth reasons. We may just offer support for organisational purpose and dedicated software (such as iso creation scripts).

How do you plan to use the Savannah services?

To help us better keep track of your registration, please use the tracker's web interface following the link below. Do not reply directly, the registration process is not driven by e-mail, and we will not receive such replies.

Regards.

A new project has been registered at Savannah
The project account will remain inactive until a site admin approve or discard the registration.

######### REGISTRATION ADMINISTRATION #########

While this item will be useful to track the registration process, approving or discarding the registration must be done using the specific "Group Administration" page, accessible only to site administrators, effectively logged as site administrators (superuser):

  <https://savannah.nongnu.org/siteadmin/groupedit.php?group_id=8596>

######### REGISTRATION DETAILS #########

Full Name:
----------
  Free MultiOS

System Group Name:
-----------------
  freemultios

Type:
-----
  non-GNU software & documentation

License:
--------
  GNU General Public License V2 or later

Other License:
--------------
  The "GUI" (browsing environmet = website on disk) is GPL 2
All sub packages are GPL 2, exept for MINIX 3.1.2 = BSD

I have gained written permission of all sub project maintainers to redistribute their work.

Description:
------------
  Free MultiOS is a compilation CD-ROM, providing multiple free Operating Systems, the upcomming release provides:

  • AROS (Amiga Research Operating System - GPL 2);
  • FreeDOS 9 "Methusalem" and OpeGEM 5 (both GPL 2);
  • MINIX 3.1.2 (BSD);
  • Puppy GNU/Linux (GPL 2);
  • ReactOS 0.29 (Windows XP binary and driver compitable OS - GPL 2).

Source code is not available on the CD, but it includes a CD browsing environment (a "website on disk") providing file descriptions and links to each package's website. So users have instant access to the source code (as stated by the GNU General Public License 2) and updates.

The ISO9660 image requires max. 700 MB and will be replaced if a update is released. The release cycle is pretty much Debian GNU/Linux alike. It will be released if it's ready to.

The philosophy behind Free MultiOS is pretty straight foreward: Look, here is a nice CD-ROM filled of Free experimental Operating Systems. Hum, a nice geeky toy, for the average Joe's and Jill's: the worst nightmare ever :)

If you want more info on the development progrss, check out my homepage at:

Other Software Required:
------------------------
  There are no dependencies.

Other Comments:
---------------
  Well, the reason i request you to host Free MultiOS, is simply the lack of financial resources. I am simply unable to buy some diskspace. Technically i could host the iso image on a homebrew server, but again here the lack of financial resources is the problem (the energy bill).

Free MultiOS was rejected at sourceforge.net, since it is not a community source project and rejected at ftp.funet.fi since it is not especialy Finnish. I allso tried hosting the iso image via the Gnutella p2p network, unfortunately Limewire consumes too many system resources on my top box (a Pentium II 260 Mhz / 96 MB RAM). If i had the resources to host it my self beleve me i would not bother you ;)
