Hi,

The addition of notes to the COPYING file is not considered best practice, however it doesn't really affect the licensing.

Therefore, I have approved your project.  You will receive an automated e-mail containing detailed information about the approval.

Regards.

Hi,

Your COPYING file must include a complete verbatim copy of the license, which may be found at http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt. This is needed in order to release your project properly and unambiguously under the GNU GPL. For the binary files, your README files in those directories are fine.

Also, some of your source files in the (kbfxconfigapp subdirectory) are still missing license notices and permission to copy notices. The notices that do exist have the wrong FSF address.

Please update or add those notices and your COPYING file and then provide us with an URL to an updated tarball of your project.

Regards.

Hi Steven;

I made those changes and placed  the tar ball at
http://www.kbfx.org/spinx.tar.gz this is infact the
source that will be moved to savannah source repository.
take a look and i have made all the changes that I must do
to make it compatible with the license. there were some non-binary file that dose not support commenting so I placed
a README on those folders .I also changed all the address.

Thank you.

Hi,

I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah.

In order to release your project properly and unambiguously under the GNU GPL, please place copyright notices and permission-to-copy statements at the beginning of every copyrightable file, usually any file more than 10 lines long.

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html.

If some of your files cannot carry such notices (e.g. binary files), then you can add a README file in the same directory containing the copyright and license notices. Check http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/Copyright-Notices.html for further information.

The GPL FAQ explains why these procedures must be followed.  To learn why a copy of the GPL must be included with every copy of the code, for example, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html#WhyMustIInclude.

Additionally, the address of the FSF has changed, and is now:

51 Franklin Street, Fifth Floor, Boston, MA  02110-1301  USA

Please update your license notices.

Please update the copy of the license (usually, the 'COPYING' file) in your package as well.

Updated versions of the GPL, LGPL and GFDL can also be found at:
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/lgpl.txt
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.txt

You can find some background and a possible migration script at https://savannah.gnu.org/forum/forum.php?forum_id=3766

If you are willing to make the changes mentioned above, please provide us with an URL to an updated tarball of your project.  Upon review, we will reconsider your project for inclusion in Savannah.

To help us better keep track of your registration, please use the tracker's web interface following the link below. Do not reply directly, the registration process is not driven by e-mail, and we will not receive such replies.

Regards.

hi. I'm Siraj Razick . the Author and the maintainer of Kbfx Applet
plugin for KDE desktop.

Kbfx started as a small hobby project born out of a spontaneous idea. Kbfx is meant to be a kicker bar menu button replacement on KDE ( K Desktop Env) The success of kbfx has been the contributions of many KDE lovers and Artists. From the current feedback.

Kbfx is a Application menu for KDE desktop. current activites are done from kbfx.org but we do not have facilities on the server for
software development. So we used sf.net . but now sf.net is giving
lot of trouble. So we want to move. and I can't any good place other
than "where the GNU docks", savannah.

there are about 100 downloads every day and downloads exceeding 600 per day when major release is made. and KBFX is no of the most downloaded applications on kde-look org exceeding more than 26,000 downloads in just 8 months.

current development information can be found on by bog at kdedevelopers.org
