Hello,

> They have both the FDL included as a seperate chapter.

Right, that's a point - but another is that you have to include the license and copyright notices also as comments into your source code of the documentation.

So that have got the notices in the output of your documentation (pdf) and in the source code (lyx).

Furthermore we postpone your project again for a while. Please tell us when you release any source code of your project so that we can review the whole project again. Thanks.

Regards,
Savannah Administration Team

Hi Sebastian,

Program sourcecode hasn't been released yet. The only GPL release at the moment is the logo. **Added a readme and copying file there.

The PDF file sits in CVS next to his sourcecode a Lyx file.
They have both the FDL included as a seperate chapter.

Only the documentation will be released under the FDL. The rest will be GPL. No need to change the project license.

Hope this fixes the problems.

greets,

Patrick

Hello.

I had a look at your project and some violations of the GNU GPL.

In order to release your project properly and unambiguously under the GPL,
please place copyright notices and permission-to-copy statements at the beginning of every file of source code.

In addition, if you haven't already, please include a copy of the plain text version of the GPL,
available from http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt, into a file named "COPYING".

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html.

The GPL FAQ explains why these procedures must be followed.
To learn why a copy of the GPL must be included with every copy of the code, for example,
see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html#WhyMustIInclude.

Furthermore, please add to the directory of your PNG files a README file and add there copyright/license notices.
Have also a look at http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/Copyright-Notices.html

Then you should add there the source file for your PDF as well - for example a LaTeX file...

I saw that you released your PDF under the terms of the GNU FDL, should we change your license type of your project?

In order to release your project properly and unambiguously under the FDL,
please place copyright notices and permission-to-copy statements after the title page of each work.

In addition, if you haven't already, please add a copy of the FDL
(available from http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.html in various formats)
as a section of your works , and as plain text in a file named 'COPYING' (http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.txt).

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.html#SEC4

http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl-howto.html also covers additional points,
including a smaller notice that you can use in auxiliary files.

Hi,

Your projects meets the Savannah requirements, except that we cannot review your source code yet.

We can approve it, and review the code in the near future (or better, at your request). We will among other check if the source files contain appropriate copyright notice and permission-to-copy statements at the beginning of every copyrightable file, usually any file more than 10 lines long. Our review would help catch potential legal issues early.

If then the source code does not meet our requirements (for example, non-free dependencies), we will then discuss the issue and possibly remove the project from Savannah.

Is this ok for you?

A new project has been registered at Savannah
The project account will remain inactive until a site admin approve or discard the registration.

######### REGISTRATION ADMINISTRATION #########

While this item will be useful to track the registration process, approving or discarding the registration must be done using the specific "Group Administration" page, accessible only to site administrators, effectively logged as site administrators (superuser):

######### REGISTRATION DETAILS #########

Full Name:
----------
  Evolutionary Knowledge System

System Group Name:
-----------------
  eks

Type:
-----
  non-GNU software & documentation

License:
--------
GNU General Public License V2 or later

Description:
------------
EKS (Evolutionary Knowledge System) will be a webbased knowledge system.
The project hasn't released any sources yet.
The power of EKS will be the evolutionary view at knowledge. A lot of knowledge systems show you current knowledge, not the way how it became the current knowledge. EKS will do both.
At http://init.linpro.no/~pbrunier/objects.svg you can have a basic idea of what the engine of the system is going to look like. In the future it is going to be broader. Links to email, conversations, websites will be possible.

The techniques used to accomplish all this will be the following:
Database=MySQL
Main language=PHP
Interactive GUI technique=AJAX (especially the X lib from http://www.cross-browser.com/ which is GPL)
