Hey, nice points. :)
The problem was that I searched the copyright+license notices in every file of source code in top not at bottom, but should be okay anyway.

But you can also read "Are there translations of the GPL into other languages?" http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html#GPLTranslations

Hope that helps.
I have approved your project.  You will receive an automated e-mail containing detailed information about the approval.

Hi,

> Please write copyright+license information in every .htm(l) file.

mmm, I'm not sure I get it. I read http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.html#SEC4 before releasing 1.0.9rc2, and appended the section:

---8<-------------------------------------------
Copyright © 2005 Christian Mauduit. Permission is granted to copy,
distribute and/or modify this document under the terms of the GNU Free
Documentation License, Version 1.2 or any later version published by
the Free Software Foundation; with no Invariant Sections, no
Front-Cover Texts, and no Back-Cover Texts.
---8<-------------------------------------------

at the end of every file written in English in the ./doc directory (in addition to putting this notice at the beginning of the index.en.html, with an information stating that the FDL is available in ./doc/COPYINH, index.en.html being the file which best qualifies as my "title page").

Now it is true that French written files contain a shorter French notice which is:

---8<-------------------------------------------
Copyright © 2005 Christian Mauduit. Document placé sous licence GNU FDL.
---8<-------------------------------------------

Maybe the point is that this is not correct? Since there's no translation of the "full" English section about being released under the FDL. We end up to the very classical problem where the fact that GPL/LGPL/GFDL translations are on one side either unofficial or unsopported, but on the other side something written in English only has very little legal value in France.

I see two options, I can either add the English standard section to every French file (rather akward but I can do it). Or I can simply delete all the French files from the distribution, getting rid of all problems at once (I'm starting to think this is going to be the most time saving solution). Or in fact third option I could delete the ./doc directory as well and redirect people on http://www.ufoot.org/uwikicms/doc from the README, indeed this is the source from which ./doc is constructed, by an automated call to wget. When I update the docs I first edit them online then wget them. So the web site is always up to date 8-) Which option do you think I could choose? Or maybe the problem isn't related to these French files?

Thanks and have a nice day,

Christian.

Hello.

1) allright. :)

2) Please write copyright+license information in every .htm(l) file. :-)

You can also have a look at http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.html#SEC4

Hello,

1) I added the README file to misc/images/ (I had forgotten it in the first place for this directory is pretty much useless, I keep it for it contains the "source" GIMP .xcf files I used to generate the actual .png bitmaps, so it makes sense as "source files" but I never touched them once they were created in the first place. Anyways the licence is here now).

2) I added a copy of the GNU FDL in doc/COPYING , and tried to clarify the use of the FDL in doc/index.en.html.

New tarball on:
http://ufoot.hd.free.fr/ufoot/pub/uwikicms-1.0.9rc2.tar.gz

Thanks for your patience and time, and have a nice day,

Christian.

Hello.

At first, misc/images/* doesn't include any README file.

At second, in order to release your project^Wdocumentation properly and unambiguously under the FDL,
please place copyright notices and permission-to-copy statements after the title page of each work (according to doc/).

In addition, if you haven't already, please add a copy of the FDL
(available from http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.html in various formats)
as a section of your works , and as plain text in a file named 'COPYING' (http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.txt).

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.html#SEC4

http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl-howto.html also covers additional points, including a smaller notice that you can use in auxiliary files.

Regards,

Hi,

I added the standard copyright notice on .sql .js and .css files (and also a bunch of .sh which qualified for copyright IMHO). Also added a README in images directories.

I also updated the FSF address, Temple Place should be gone.

I made a release candidate with these changes, which is available on:

http://ufoot.hd.free.fr/ufoot/pub/uwikicms-1.0.9rc1.tar.gz

PS: some files might be too short for proper copyright, but experience shows that these files can be 5 lines some day, 30 lines the other day, and become a oneliner some time after. I copyrighted them. I thought the only risk would be that the copyright would simply not apply on the files when their content is hardly anything. Does not seem really harmfull to me.

PPS: Just a remark: the COPYING file was there 8-) But the address was wrong so I updated it anyways.

Hi,
I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah.

In order to release your project properly and unambiguously under the GNU GPL, please place copyright notices and permission-to-copy statements at the beginning of every file of source code (this includes every .sql, .js and .css file.

But please notice that only files >10 lines can be copyrighted and licensed.

In addition, please include a copy of the plain text version of the GPL, available from http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt,
into a file named "COPYING".

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html.

If some of your files cannot carry such notices (e.g. binary files; .jpg, .png files), then you can add a README file in the same directory containing the copyright and license notices. Check http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/Copyright-Notices.html for further information.

The GPL FAQ explains why these procedures must be followed.  To learn why a copy of the GPL must be included with every copy of the code, for example,
see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html#WhyMustIInclude.

Then the address of the FSF has changed, and is now:

51 Franklin Street, Fifth Floor, Boston, MA  02110-1301  USA

Please update your license notices.

Updates versions of the GPL, LGPL and GFDL can also be found at:
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/lgpl.txt
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.txt

Please update the copy of the license (usually, the 'COPYING' file) in your package as well.

You can find some background and a possible migration script at https://savannah.gnu.org/forum/forum.php?forum_id=3766

If you are willing to make the changes mentioned above, please provide us with an URL to an updated tarball of your project.  Upon review, we will reconsider your project for inclusion in Savannah.

To help us better keep track of your registration, please use the tracker's web interface following the link below. Do not reply directly, the registration process is not driven by e-mail, and we will not receive such replies.

Description:
------------
UWiKiCMS ( http://www.ufoot.org/uwikicms ) is a lightweight web content management system.

UWiKiCMS features basic text formatting and online editing, image upload and automatic positionning, heavy css use, lightweight XHTML compliant code, readable URLs and no cryptic article.php?id=123 stuff, extensibility at will through PHP file includes, fancy orginal features such as "all in one page ready to print" or sharing the same database for various sub-sites, and has a built-in cache system.

UWiKiCMS is a web application using the standard PHP / MySQL tools. It is distributed as free software (free speech, not beer), under the terms of the GNU General Public License ( GPL ).

UWiKiCMS aims at staying as simple as possible and cope with the constraints of a plain PHP/MySQL hosting solution. The idea was to minimize the number of clicks required to publish an online document, and fit my personnal needs.

Latest release on: http://www.ufoot.org/archive/uwikicms-1.0.8.tar.gz

Other Software Required:
------------------------
  PHP 4: http://www.php.net
MySQL 3: http://dev.mysql.com

Other Comments:
---------------
As a side note, UWiKiCMS is typically not targeted for a large audience. Basically I had special needs to handle my websites and decided to develop something for me. However GPL-izing the software and making it available to the public can't harm.
