Hello and sorry for the inconvience.

I have approved your project as non-GNU.

You will receive an automated e-mail containing detailed information about the approval.

If you would like to offer your project to the GNU project,
please contact the GNU Eval team, following the instructions at
http://www.gnu.org/help/evaluation.html .

Regards and have a nice day,

Hi,

I have approved your project.  You will receive an automated e-mail containing detailed information about the approval.

Because of the GNU Arch support: We are still working on it. It will be available as soon as possible.
Please check out our news because of it. ;-)

Regards.

Also, have you guys started hosting projects with GNU Arch yet?  I'd much prefer using it to CVS.

Thanks.

The corrected version is at:

I apologize for the delay.  Final exams are next week.

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

I am waiting for an answer from you.

If within one week I still do not get a reply, I will remove your project.
You will still be able to register it again once you have the time to deal with the registration issues.

Are you still willing to host your project at Savannah?
If not, please tell us - we don't bite, and it will make us gain time.

Regards.

Hello.

At first, please add a COPYING file to your project http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt

At second, every file > 10 lines should have copyright and license notices - this includes the Makefiles /and/ the .glade files.

Please update your tarball.

Regards,

Sebastian Wieseler <kickino>

Thanks for the quick response, I've tried to address the issues you raised and a new tarball of the source is available at:

http://www.cs.purdue.edu/~rstutsma/boink.tar.gz

As far as the concerns you raised:

Yes, this project is dependent mono as distributed from the mono-project.org for compilation and as far as class libraries.  It uses the stock class library they supply (The class libraries are released under the terms of the MIT X11).  This project doesn't require anything supplied by DotGNU at this point but could potentially in the future.

Additionally it uses GTK# and Glade# which are also Free Software.

This software has no non-Free dependencies, nor will it ever.  If , at some point, someone would like to create a version that can run on Microsoft's .NET implementation I would be willing to accept patches, but I wouldn't be persuing that myself.

Next, the copyright and GPL license statements have been added to the source files as well as the README in the images directory.  The GPL is now included as well as the project is now autotools based.

Note that it compiles but doesn't run with the autotools build scripts yet.  I should have that fixed quite shortly, though.

The GIFs have been removed.  Quite sorry about those.  They were an artifact from the original version I wrote about a decade ago.  I simply overlooked them in cleaning things up.

Please let me know if there are any other withstanding issues that I can address.  I will plan to move forward with transferring GNU Eval team once everything else is clearly in order.

Thanks!

Hi,
I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah.

At first, you must determine whether your project can run on a Free Software .NET suite.

We recommend you to test your project against DotGNU Portable .NET and Mono, and ensure that your code runs on this Free Software .NET suite (see www.dotgnu.org and www.mono-project.com for more information).

Please clarify this point, but as you mentioned 'mono' as a dependence I think it can run on it, right? :-)

At second, please remove GIF image files from your project and replace them with an other format (such as PNG or JPEG).

Because of the patents (Unisys and IBM) covering the LZW compression algorithm which are used when making GIF files,
it's impossible to have free software to generate proper GIFs.  These patents also apply to the compress program.

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/philosophy/gif.html.

At third, in order to release your project properly and unambiguously under the GPL, please place copyright notices and permission-to-copy statements at the beginning of every file of source code.

In addition, if you haven't already, please include a copy of the plain text version of the GPL,
available from http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt, into a file named "COPYING".

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html.

The GPL FAQ explains why these procedures must be followed.
To learn why a copy of the GPL must be included with every copy of the code, for example,
see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html#WhyMustIInclude.

For the images please include a README file in their directories and write there the copyright and license information down.
See also http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/Copyright-Notices.html

And last but not least, if you would like to offer your project to the GNU project, please contact the GNU Eval team, following the instructions at
http://www.gnu.org/help/evaluation.html .

But before we can go on with your registration you must include the correct license/copyright notices as described above.

Regards,
