Hello...
(original mail is available on our mailing list, just for records).

To wait until November is not practicable for us. We would like to cancel your submission now. Feel free to re-register when you have got any source code to show us.

Hi,

I am waiting for an answer from you.

If within one week I still do not get a reply, I will remove your project.
You will still be able to register it again once you have the time to deal with the registration issues.

Are you still willing to host your project at Savannah?
If not, please tell us - we don't bite, and it will make us gain time.

Regards.

Hello...
(original mail is available on our mailing list, just for records).

All dependences of your project had to be under a GPL compatible license. So it's not enough for Savannah that your project and the dependences are under a opensource or a free software license, the license must be GPL compatible. Please have a look at http://www.gnu.org/licenses/license-list.html to found ot if a license is GPL compatible or not.

But your projects meets the Savannah requirements, except that we cannot review your source code yet.

We can approve it, and review the code in the near future (or better, at your request).
We will among other check if the source files contain appropriate copyright notice and permission-to-copy statements
at the beginning of every file of source code. Our review would help catch potential legal issues early.

If then the source code does not meet our requirements (for example, non-free dependencies),
we will then discuss the issue and possibly remove the project from Savannah.

Is this ok for you?

And please make a list of all of your dependences (when they are totally clear) as soon as possible, and submit it in reply to this tracker item.

Regards,

Sebastian Wieseler <kickino>

Sorry, forgotten, "Linux" is just a kernel of a more complex system that we like to refer to
as GNU/Linux, to emphasize the ideals of the Free Software movement.

Would you mind changing references to Linux as an OS to GNU/Linux?

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/gnu/linux-and-gnu.html.

Hi,
I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah.

We need a detailed technical description that specifies such requirements as programming languages and external libraries.
It should be at least one-half a page.

Then please include a (perhaps temporary) URL pointing to the source code.
The description you gave when registering will not be read by the general public.
If you are still concerned with privacy, however, you can forward the code to me by email.

We wish to review your source code, even if it is not functional, to catch potential legal issues early.

For example, to release your program properly under the GPL you must include a copyright notice and
permission-to-copy statements at the beginning of every file of source code. This is explained in
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html. Our review would help catch potential omissions such as these.

Regards,

######### REGISTRATION ADMINISTRATION #########

While this item will be useful to track the registration process, approving or discarding the registration must be done using the specific "Group Administration" page, accessible only to site administrators, effectively logged as site administrators (superuser):

######### REGISTRATION DETAILS #########

Full Name:
----------
EZDC - Easy Direct connect Client

System Group Name:
-----------------
 ezdc

Type:
-----
 non-GNU software & documentation

License:
--------
GNU General Public License V2 or later

Description:
------------
The Direct Connect protocol is one of the popular P2P sharing protocols. Most Linux users face the lack of any good and powerful client for it. Some of the other protocols like "fish", "smb", "lan", "tar" get seemlessly embedded in Konqueror. There is no such for DC protocol.
We will be developing a software which will act as a Client to DC network and will be able to connect and share information from all existing clients/servers. This application would run Stand-alone as well as embedded in Konqueror.

This will enable Linux users to connect to DC Networks, without much hassle. Embedding in Konqueror will increase the usability, and ease of use, which will attract people to start using Linux/KDE.
