It seems that nobody is willing to tackle this issue, and yet it appears to be valuable; so I'm marking it as postponed in case anyone finds the time.

Hi,

I am reviewing old open tasks, and apparently nobody is willing to tackle this task. Can I close it?

Alex.

Hi,

AFAICT, it's not currently possible to fetch source code from Savannah Bazaar repositories securely unless you have sftp access, which is only available to members of a given project (and only when they have access to their SSH key).

This could be easily solved by enabling https in bzr.savannah.gnu.org. The recommended code fetch instructions in /bzr/group?=foo could be adjusted as well.

Thanks!
