Hi,

(I didn't see your (anonymous) comment.)

I approved your project. Welcome!

Hi,
I am bringing together and merging all of the patches that are circulating for rtmpdump since it was taken down by a DMCA request. I am also planning on maintaining and improving the codebase as required. No one else is officially or publically maintaining this codebase. My copyright has not yet been added. The original author's copyright is maintained as usual for a fork. I have not personally contacted the Gnash team. The Gnash project clearly has very different and greater aims and priorities. They are implemneting a GUI based flash client whereas this code is purely and simply for lightweight command-line rtmp streaming - no actionscript or flash. This project implements code from libRTMP from the XBMC project also. A few of the other projects are starting to implement the RTMPE and swf verification features which clearly has brought the wrath of adobe on rtmpdump and others recently. This project intends to steer clear of those features because many users still don't require them. Future re-merging with rtmpdump will not be ruled out in the future once this dmca nonsense has settled down or becomes resolved. The site you mantion is just a site which points to many other rtmp related projects and explains why adobe are wrong. It mirrors the tarball for the last release of rtmpdump before it was taken down and many torrent links. It is not a the rtmpdump project hosting site as such and bugs in rtmpdump are still going unfixed at present which is resulting in a fragmented number of incompatible rtmpdump patches.

Hi,

Can you tell what is your involvement in this project (no file is copyright by you), and what this brings compared to, say, http://lkcl.net/rtmp/

In addition, did you contact the Gnash team, who work on RTMP too?

Cheers.
