Sylvain,

I plan to host both code and webpages.  The main project page is currently at http://www.gnu.org/software/vmslib and I will need to update that to a current GNU page.  The code for vmslib shall be placed in CVS and actively worked on.

Thanks.

Hi,

Do you plan to host only the webpages, or also the code, at Savannah?

Re: "Registration Type":

I originally registered this project as "Type: non-GNU software & documentation" - however, it was previously hosted at www.gnu.org/software/vmslib.  Per rms in his appointment to me, this will remain the main webpage for the software, but I was unclear if this meant the project was actually "Type: www.gnu.org portion".  Based upon other project that share the latter type, I didn't feel this project fit the bill.  Please let me know if that is incorrect.

Made minor change to "Other Comments":

GNU vmslib was originally maintained by Richard Levitte. After Richard stepped down, Chris Bryant (me) received the appointment to maintain the project by rms through Karl Berry. This archive is the last known state of the code from Richard Levitte. A release of vmslib-1.0 is planned with GPL V3 this year.

Registration Administration

While this item will be useful to track the registration process, approving or discarding the registration must be done using the specific Group Administration page, accessible only to site administrators, effectively logged as site administrators (superuser):

Registration Details

  • Name: GNU vmslib
  • System Name:  vmslib
  • Type: non-GNU software & documentation
  • License: GNU General Public License v2 or later

Description:

VMSLIB is a bunch of files and small routines that can help people to port GNU programs to VMS.  It consists of a C function library, with routines that are missing in the current system C libraries that have been seen so far, maybe with the exception of GNU libc.  In VMSLIB, there are also a bunch of scripts (in VMS terminology, they are called `command procedures') which help a lot in writing makefiles, and other scripts.

Other Comments:
