Hi Atul,

I have approved your project as non-GNU. You will receive an automated
e-mail containing detailed information about the approval. If you
would like to offer your project to the GNU project, please contact
the GNU Eval team, following the instructions at
http://www.gnu.org/help/evaluation.html .

Regards.

Hi Jonathan,

I intend to use GPLv2 license. I have updated my "COPYING" file with appropriate license. I hope license headers in my source code are in line with the license file.

Best regards,
Atul.

Hi Atul,

You have the GPLv3 in the COPYING file, this means that you have
chosen the GPLv3 as the license for your project instead of GPLv2 as
you selected on the license field when you submitted the project? In
this case I will switch the license of your project when I'll
approved.

Related to the latest issue m please if you want to use the GPLv3,
please change the notice at the top of every file of your project
because the current notice it's for GPLv2 not GPLv3 because as
this line says: "either version 2 of the License, or (at your option)
any later version." doesn't leave your project under the GPLv3 because
"at your option" text.

The latest points are pretty important to keep the code of your
project free of license problems, please fix it and I will approve
your project without any problem.

Regards,

Jonathan Gonzalez V. <zeus>

Hi Jonathan,

I've modified the license notices in my source code. Also included is latest version of gpl.txt as "COPYING" file in the distribution. Could you please check if my tar ball conforms to stipulated submission standards?

Best regards,
Atul.

Hi Atul,

If you make the changes within a week you just have to upload the new
tarball using this tracker, but if it will take you more time please
let us know, so we can cancel the project submission and you will be
available to re-submit it when you have the changes ready, this is
just to keep a clean list of submissions.

Hi Jonathan,

Thank you for your comments.

I did misunderstand "Other license or precisions". I intend to use GPLv2 for my project.

I was not aware of the new FSF address. I will change it in my code and will update the license copy.

Once I finish these changes, do I have to file a fresh project proposal or I can just upload fresh tar ball under this proposal?

Best regards,
Atul.

Hi Atul,

I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in
Savannah. While doing so I have noticed a few problems which are
described below.

You add the text:
QT Open Source Edition License (More information at
http://trolltech.com/products/qt/licenses/licensing/opensource

This doesn't let us clear what do you want with add this, maybe you
misunderstood the "Other license or precisions" field. If you want to
use the GPLv2 and put that text as an additional info please let us
know.

On the other hand, address of the FSF has changed, and is now:

51 Franklin Street, Fifth Floor, Boston, MA  02110-1301  USA

Please update your license notices.

Please update the copy of the license (usually, the 'COPYING' file) in
your package as well, beware to use the GPLv2 as you point us in the form.

Updated versions of the GPL, LGPL and GFDL can also be found at:
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/lgpl.txt
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.txt

You can find some background and a possible migration script at https://savannah.gnu.org/forum/forum.php?forum_id=3766

(alternatively the GNU (L)GPLv3 standard notices include different
wording that do not mention the FSF snail mail address - see
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.html#howto)

Description:

SoftBots provides a simple graphical user interface for GNU Robots. The UI is based on QT. It has been tested on QT 3.2.1 and KDE 3.1, but it there should be no problem porting it to newer QT/KDE versions.

The GUI provides following capabilities:

- selection of robot (*.scm) file
- selection of map (*.map) file
- display GNU Robots help documentation
- display GNU Robots version information
- launch map editor
- (and of course) launch GNU Robots!

Other Software Required:

QT 3.2.1+  (http://trolltech.com/)
KDE 3.1+  (http://www.kde.org)

Other Comments:

This GUI is known to work on Slackware Linux 9.1, but should be quite portable to other GNU/Linux flavors.
