There are 4 quality levels in flash, and this is what we're going to use for the interface. Each renderer should be free to interpret the quality as it likes. I'm looking at AGG, though I'm not sure how far I'll get. I'm not going to look at Cairo or OGL.

movie_root controls the quality (because it's a Global AS property) so the GUI will have to use its _stage member to control it.

Not so fast; I didn't yet implement that for Cairo. I started on the renderer interface first.

Cairo has three anti-aliasing methods: none, better, best. With OpenGL there's none, simple, good (accum), best (multisample). With AGG I believe there's only one type of anti-aliasing.

All renderers can tweak their bezier curve interpolation. So we'd likely want to use some sort of predefined combination of interpolation accuracy and anti-aliasing type for _quality.

I belive bastiaan implemented optional antialiasing for cairo.
Bastiaan, feel like designing an interface for render_handler
to set that ? Does cairo implement multi-level setting for it ?
(flash quality can be low/medium/high IIRC)

The first step can easily be done using the interfaceEventCallback. I might add that this afternoon (so the log_unimpl moves to gui).

What exactly would be controlled by this property?

Two things immediately come to mind:
1) Anti-aliasing methods;
2) Bezier curve interpolation accuracy.

This means:

- Adding an interface to render_handler to change quality
- Adding an interface to Gui to change quality (which would trigger redisplay)
- Adding a Gui reference in the core to signal quality change, or have the Gui query the quality on each ::display call...
