Thanks.  I think this completes all the necessary requirements, so I'm recommending that your project be accepted.  You should receive a notification soon.

Please note that if your Makefile and/or make script ever becomes non-trivial, then it should contain a copyright notice and licence notice just like all the other files.

Regards

John

I inserted an updated licence and copyrith notice in the "/sql/osiris.backup". This file is used to generate the tables for the database.

Thanks for the updated tarball.  I noticed one file which you seem to have missed: progress.c  Please update this file.

I notice that you are using gtksheet from the gtk-extra project.
You added your own copyright notice and license notice as asked.  But you don't own the copyright for gtksheet.h
Have you made any modifications to the code in gtksheet.h?  If not, then you should leave the copyright and license notice unchanged (and then there's no reason to have the file in your tarball).  Otherwise, if you have modified the code in this file, then you should leave the original copyright holder's license notice and copyright statement intact, and place your own notice above it, with a brief sentence stating that you have modified this file.

It's very important that you don't remove other peoples' copyright notices.  Otherwise you could be accused of breaching copyright law.

Please remove the gtksheet.h file or restore the original copyright holder's notices.  Please also do this for any other third party files which you may have used.

Please provide us with an URL to an updated tarball of your project. Upon review, we will reconsider your project for inclusion in Savannah.

   Hi,

I accept to rename the project as "Free Osiris Patient Database
System" and FreeOsiris. I inserted a licence and copyright notice in
all .c and .pgc files and added a file called COPYING containing the
verbatim text of the GPL in the repertory containing the sources.

You can find an updated tar ball of my project at the following URL
   http://openosiris.org/download/freeosiris.tar.gz

I hope that all the files are "OK" now.
   I checked all the files.

Thanks for the updated tarball.  There are still some outstanding problems:

1. You added the license notices, but did not add appropriate copyright notices.

Please check http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/Copyright-Notices.html for more information, and update your files.

2. The address you used in the licence notice is an old one.  Please check update the notice with the new address.  See https://savannah.gnu.org/forum/forum.php?forum_id=3766  and update your files.

3. I see you added the preamble to the .c files, but not to the .h files. All legally significant source files must contain a copyright notice, and a licence notice. I'm unsure if src/osiris.backup is a necessary for building and installing the project.  If it is, then it needs the copyright and license notices too.

4. I see you added a copy of the GPL in a file called "copying".  By convention, we call this file "COPYING" (upper case).  Please rename this file accordingly.

5. Please remove the .o ~ files and any other generated files from your tarball. I note that some of the .c files appear to be generated from the .pgc files. You should remove these *.c files and include instructions for generating them.  (It's best to include a Makefile.  This would make it easier for people to build and install it.)

Please provide us with an URL to an updated tarball of your project.  Upon review, we will reconsider your project for inclusion in Savannah.

Hi,

I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah. While doing so I have noticed a few problems which are described below.

Savannah's mission is to host free software projects, and we want the public to think of them as free software projects.  A project name that says "open" will tend to lead people to think of the project as "open source" instead of "free software".

We would be glad if you accept to use "free" instead of "open" in your project name.

I could find licence and copyright notices in only two of the files: pg_util.c and pg_util.pgc Similar notices must appear in all files.  You should also add a file called COPYING containing the verbatim text of the GPL.

Please check http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/Copyright-Notices.html for more information, and update your files.

If you are willing to make the changes mentioned above, please provide us with an URL to an updated tarball of your project.  Upon review, we will reconsider your project for inclusion in Savannah.

Description:

Patient Data Management System for Intensive Care
Massaut J
Surgical Intensive Care, Brugmann Hospital, Université Libre de Bruxelles

In Intensive Care Units, the amount of data to be processed for patients care, the turn over of the patients, the necessity for reliability and for review processes indicate the use of Patient Data Management System (PDMS). To respond to the needs of a Surgical Intensive Care Unit, we developed a PDMS based on open source software and components.
The software was designed as a client–server architecture running on the GNU/Linux operating system and powered by the PostgreSQl data base system. The client software was developed in C using the GTK library(1.2) for the user interface and the pgsql library for the communication with the database.
The application offers the following functions: medical notes captures, observations and treatments, nursing charts with administration of medications and scoring systems functionalities. The PDMS was used from 2004 to care more than two thousands patients with the expected reliability and functionalities.
The project was presented as a poster (http://openosiris.org/download/OSDMS_poster.pdf) at Medinf2007 (world congress on medical informatics 2007) at Brisbane, Australia. It will be presented soon at the European congress of intensive care at Berlin the 8 October. We wont to publish the source code (http://openosiris.org/download/openosiris.tar.gz) under a public licence.

Other Software Required:

 dependencies :
   pgsql,(PostgreSQL)
   gtkextra,
gnome, gtk (v 1.2 must be upgrate for v 2.x)
   OpenOffice or Abiword for reporting
