Hi,

We did not get a response from you, so we deleted your project from the pending queue.

If you would still like to have your project hosted at Savannah, please register it again.

The re-registration URL found in our acknowledgment of your earlier registration will direct you to the proper location where you can re-register your project.

Regards.

Hi,

I am waiting for an answer from you.

If within one week I still do not get a reply, I will remove your project. You will still be able to register it again once you have the time to deal with the registration issues.

Are you still willing to host your project at Savannah? If not, please tell us - we don't bite, and it will make us gain time.

Regards.

Hi,

I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah. While doing so I have noticed a few problems which are described below.

Your project is not yet part of the GNU project, so we cannot accept its current name.

While there are non-GNU programs with names that include 'gnu', such as gnuplot and gnuboy, they are not hosted on Savannah.\n We want to maintain the distinction between GNU and non-GNU projects.

When your project is accepted into the GNU project you may change its name. You can do this by asking us.

Your project is not part of the GNU project, so we cannot accept its current type.  We want to maintain the distinction between 'GNU' and'non-GNU' projects.  If your project is approved for inclusion into Savannah, we will set it's type to 'non-GNU'.

If your project is accepted into the GNU project you may change its type.  You can do this by asking us.

We prefer to approve project with source code, so we can check it for legal issues (even non-functional code is OK). We will among others check if the source files contain appropriate copyright notice and permission-to-copy statements at the beginning of every copyrightable file. Our review helps catch potential legal issues early.

If you need Savannah right now, please explain to us why; otherwise, please resubmit the project when you have source code.

If we approve your project without source code, we will review the code in the near future (or better, at your request). If then the source code does not meet our requirements (for example, non-free dependencies), we will then discuss the issue and possibly remove the project from Savannah.

Do you need the Savannah services now, and if yes do you agree with the above conditions?

Regards.
Michael

Registration Details

  • Name: GNU PC Studio (or GNU Personal Cell phon
  • System Name:  gpcs
  • Type: non-GNU software & documentation
  • License: GNU General Public License v2 or later

Description:

The aim of this project is to have something like the samsung PC Studio (maybe this name is copyrighted ?) running on GNU/Linux to read SMS, phone book, calendar, wallpapers and ringers from my samsung cell phone (this is why I decided to start this project).

This project is the way I want to offer this small piece of software to the community using GLv2 (or v3 that I haven't read yet since I did not read any piece of code or used any program provided with this license) ?

The project is made of 3 part :
- a kernel module;
- a library that will provide a C api to talk with the /dev entry (sending AT like commands and parsing the result to put it into C struct);
- a cool gtk application that will use this api to send files to the phone, read, remove and add contacts or calendar entries.

Later this gtk application will have a sync (syncml ?) module to synchronise with icedove's address book.

Maybe a fourth part will be available: a command line tool using the library for user not running X server (depends on requests for this kind of tool).

Other Software Required:

This project will likely depend on (list to complete):
- pthread
- gtk
& others later for syncml / icedove synchronisation. The criteria for a library to be used is to be ree software.

The aim is to have the minimal dependancies possible.

Other Comments:

No real source code yet available. Only a kernel module skeleton (based on usb-skeleton) to read & write data from /dev entry to device. Another piece of code to prompt for AT commands to write in /dev/entry and to read the result and display it on screen.
kernel module + library expected for end of september. First usable version of gtk app expected for x-mas.
