Hi Scott,

I can't see any changes (no URL), but anyway you should add the COPYING file to your project at the creation process.

I have approved your project.  You will receive an automated e-mail containing detailed information about the approval.

Regards.

Hi,

Thanks for the source code.

To release your project properly and unambiguously under the GNU GPL, please include a copy of the plain text version of the GPL, available from http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl.txt, into a file named "COPYING".

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html.

Cheers.

Sorry. I have tried to reply a number of times on the Savannah Web site and it never seems to take. I am hoping this gets to you this time.

Hi,

I am waiting for an answer from you.

If within one week I still do not get a reply, I will remove your project. You will still be able to register it again once you have the time to deal with the registration issues.

Are you still willing to host your project at Savannah? If not, please tell us - we don't bite, and it will make us gain time.

Regards.

Hi,

I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah.

Unfortunatly, the URL (http://scm.freeshell.org/sai
) you provided for the tarball is unreachable. Please point me a new URL for your source files.

We wish to review your source code, even if it is not functional, to catch potential legal issues early.

For example, to release your program properly under the GNU GPL you must include a copyright notice and permission-to-copy statements at the beginning of every  copyrightable file, usually any file more than 10 lines long.  This is explained in http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html.  Our review would help catch potential omissions such as these.

Note that sending code to our repositories is a release, since the code will then be publicly available through anonymous access.

Cheers

Description:

SAI - Scott’s Artificial Intelligence

An artificial intelligence program being developed on commonly available microcomputers of various hardware architectures. Right now the BASH shell scripting language is being used for basic concept development, but the intention of the author is to utilize a better-suited programming language for AI program development when the need arises.

A major goal of this project is to have the SAI program eventually become the intelligence of an android that uses only free software. At that time, the hardware that the android requires will be created, and the schematics released to the public under some kind of free hardware license.

Source code can be found at: http://scm.freeshell.org/sai

Other Software Required:

During development, SAI is dependent on the ‘say’ proprietary program found in Apple OS 10.x.x systems for speech synthesis audio file output, but will not by required by the user of the SAI program. All speech-synthesized files created by ‘say’ will be in the OGG audio format and part of the SAI program distribution. The user will be required to have a shell capable OGG player to play speech synthesized OGG files.

The author would prefer not to use a nonfree speech synthesis program during the development of SAI, however he has been unable to find one that is free as in freedom, let alone one with the same capabilities as ‘say’. He is open to suggestions.
