Hi Julián,

The things I mentioned look fine now and so I have approved your project. You will receive an automated e-mail containing detailed information about the approval.

However, the do_* scripts still seem to lack both copyright and license notices and you should probably add them too before uploading anything to Savannah.

Regards,

Stephan

Forgot to say: the new versions are in the same URL:

http://vidrio.euler.es/vidriolib/

The 1103 versions had been deleted, the current ones are the 1104

Ok, done now. This legalese is very boring, but I suppose the FSF lawyers has good reasons to recommend it.

Hi Julián,

The copyright notices look good now, however, the license notices should cite the GPL as described in http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/License-Notices.html#License-Notices.

Please inform me when you have changed that and added both the copyright and license notices to vidriolibsamples.

Additionally, please add these notices to build scripts, configure files and makefiles too.

Regards,

Stephan

Hello.

Finally I changed the host. The new url is:

http://vidrio.euler.es/vidriolib/

The last versions of the packages has the copyright and the GPL references, (except vidriolibsamples, I forget it and at this moment I lack the time, will be corrected in a few days).

I have not solved yet the server problems with gzipped tar files.

Hi Julián,

I am waiting for an answer from you.

If within one week I still do not get a reply, I will remove your project. You will still be able to register it again once you have the time to deal with the registration issues.

Are you still willing to host your project at Savannah? If not, please tell us - we don't bite, and it will make us gain time.

Regards,

Stephan

Hi Julián,

I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah. While doing so I've noticed a few problems which are described below.

First of all, in order to release your project properly and unambiguously under the GNU GPL, please place copyright notices and permission-to-copy statements at the beginning of every copyrightable file, usually any file more than 10 lines long.

For more information, see http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html.

If some of your files cannot carry such notices (e.g. binary files), then you can add a README file in the same directory containing the copyright and license notices. Check http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/Copyright-Notices.html for further information.

The GPL FAQ explains why these procedures must be followed and can be found at http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-faq.html.

The second problem I've noticed is a minor one and should only be a note for you: Your tarball has been packed with gzip twice, making it impossible to extract with 'tar zxf file'. You might want to change that. :)

If you are willing to make the changes mentioned above, please provide us with an URL to an updated tarball of your project. Upon review, we will reconsider your project for inclusion in Savannah.

To help us better keep track of your registration, please use the tracker's web interface following the link below. Do not reply directly, the registration process is not driven by e-mail, and we will not receive such replies.

Regards,

Stephan

REGISTRATION DETAILS

Full Name:
----------
 Vidriolib

System Group Name:
-----------------
 vidriolib

Type:
-----
 non-GNU software & documentation

License:
--------
GNU General Public License V2 or later

Description:
------------
Vidriolib is a C++ class library to develop user interfaces under the X Window system, based primarily in xlib and the C++ standard library and the less dependencies of other packages as possible (actually only Xft and utf8 support in xlib are required).

The current version is available at:
http://blassic.org/vidriolib/ (page in spanish with a short description)
http://blassic.org/vidriolib/bin/ (source packages)

The packages in the site are:
vidriolib - The library
vidrioclock - A clock program with some eye candy
vidrioterm - A terminal emulator
vidriolibsamples - Several test programs
pyvidrio - A wrapper to use some vidriolib class from Python. Not very complete for the moment, a proof of concept.

Other Software Required:
------------------------
Python is required only to build and use the pyvidrio wrapper. Freetype can be required by the Xft implementation used.
