Ok, we create a repository for your project (and we can move the files to Emacs repository later on if needed).

For copyright assignments, the best is to contact -email is unavailable- and ask them how to proceed - but indeed, you print papers, sign them and snail-mail to the FSF.

Welcome to SV :)

First, I would like to ask you if you checked with the Emacs developers

>about
>including your work directly in the Emacs repository.

No, I didn't ask the Emacs developers about it, but I could in the future.
It will take some time getting to par with the original text, but once
there's a full translation, it would be great to have Emacs distributed with
translated manuals.

Copyright for work done on Emacs is usually transfered to the FSF. Did you

>do
>so?

I intend to but haven't done it yet. Am I supposed to follow these
instructions:

<
http://cvs.savannah.gnu.org/viewcvs/gnulib/doc/Copyright/assign.translation.manual?rev=1.1&root=gnulib&view=markup

>

i.e. print the copyright assignment, sign it, and snail-mail it to rms?

Are you sure your project needs to patch Emacs? Maybe you should discuss

>with
>the Texinfo developers to see how you can best install this translation
>alongside the original manual :)

No, I'm sure there's a different scheme for installing several versions of
the Info files. It's just that I haven't investigated it. Too busy with the
translation :)

Hi,

I'm reviewing your project.

Sorry for the huge delay, this is a lack of organisation from our part.

Voting is used to track which bugs or wishlist are most wanted by users in regular projects - it isn't used in this meta-project. Sorry for the confusion. We probably need a way to desactivate it per-project.

First, I would like to ask you if you checked with the Emacs developers about including your work directly in the Emacs repository. This may be the best way to keep track of the evolution of the original Emacs manual. If you think that is not a good idea, there's no problem with setting up a separate account.

About the copyright notices: current I only see the original copyright notices from the Emacs manual.

Copyright for work done on Emacs is usually transfered to the FSF. Did you do so? If yes, then everything is already correct. If not, you need to add your own copyright notices, to indicate that you changes the version, and who did. Check http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/Copyright-Notices.html to know how to write copyright notices.

Are you sure your project needs to patch Emacs? Maybe you should discuss with the Texinfo developers to see how you can best install this translation alongside the original manual :)

Please answer these questions and we'll check your submission again asap.

tizzef is not much available these days, so I un-assign this project. Thanks to RMS for pointing out.

Full Name:

Manual del usuario de GNU Emacs

System Group Name:
-----------------
 emacs-man-es

Type:
-----
 non-GNU software & documentation

 GNU Free Documentation License

Description:
------------
It's an attempt to translate the full GNU Emacs manual into Spanish from the TexInfo sources.

The adopted edition is 14th for Emacs 21.3.

The text is partially translated now, see http://nic-nac-project.de/~rarsaqi/emacs-manual-es/.

It must be completed and revised by the community, agreeing on a lexicon for worldwide readers.
There's some issues with non-ASCII characters in references to cope with.
The original English license texts must be included along with suitable Spanish translations (this remains undone).
Finally, a package must be provided to patch the official Emacs: either replace the info files or show the Spanish ones when the system language is set to that.
I'm convinced that a full translation is feasible.

Other Software Required:
------------------------
 emacs, texinfo
