The project was approved conditionaly (w/o source code) and is still empty. We remove it from the system.

Regards.

Hi,

I have approved your project for inclusion in Savannah.

We will be reviewing the cvs code in a month (or better at your request) to check if the source files contain appropriate copyright notice and permission-to-copy statements at the beginning of every file of source code.
Our review would help catch potential legal issues early.

You should get an automated email with more information shortly.

You can "request" the review simply with this tracker item. ;-) Just write a follow-up text as usual and any other SV admin or I will review your project then again.

Regards,

Sebastian Wieseler <kickino>

Hi,

This sounds good. How can I request the review when needed?

Regards,
 Ion

Hi,

Your projects meets the Savannah requirements, except that we cannot review your source code yet.

We can approve it, and review the code in the near future (or better, at your request).
We will among other check if the source files contain appropriate copyright notice and permission-to-copy statements
at the beginning of every file of source code. Our review would help catch potential legal issues early.

If then the source code does not meet our requirements (for example, non-free dependencies),
we will then discuss the issue and possibly remove the project from Savannah.

Is this ok for you?

Hi,

I'm currently looking into the details of X11 that will be used to implement the project. I applyed for the resources you offer because I wanted to use version control and to make the sources available from the start. All I can provide up to now is a GPL header + empty main(). More code would be available after I finish documenting (about 3-4 days).

Regards,
 Ion

Hello.

If it is only in "planning phase" - how you you plan to use our services? We would really prefer to review your source code first before you grant any permission to host your project here.

Would you agree with us or do you really need the project now, even if it is only in "planning phase"?

Hi,

The library will use libc and xlib. The toolkit build on top of the library will bind to other free programs (I will use this list in making the decision to what to bind: http://www.gnu.org/licenses/license-list.html#GPLCompatibleLicenses)

I can't include any link as no source code is available yet. It's a project that I've try to push into SoC but could not find a mentor for it so I decided to start it on my own. It's only in Planning phase.

Regards,
Ion

Hi,
I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in Savannah.

At first, "Standard c compiler and libraries, xlib and X11":
Which "libraries" beside xlib and X11? And the main point isn't if they are available under GNU/* but if they are FREE. ;-)

At second, please include a (perhaps temporary) URL pointing to the source code.
The description you gave when registering will not be read by the general public.
If you are still concerned with privacy, however, you can forward the code to me by email.

We wish to review your source code, even if it is not functional, to catch potential legal issues early.

For example, to release your program properly under the GPL you must include a copyright notice and
permission-to-copy statements at the beginning of every file of source code.  This is explained in
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html.  Our review would help catch potential omissions such as these.
