A first attempt was done in this commit.
It still has several issues, part of them due to a poor implementation (such as crashing with a strange behaviour ("GNU Astronomy Utilities Needs POSIX Threads (pthread)") when the input is not exactly correct), part of them probably due to issues elsewhere (such as crashing when compiling with "leak").

Given the extremely reduced audience of this feature, the commit is currently hosted in this branch, that I plan to keep reasonably up to date with master.

I do not plan to dig into the issues in the near future, but of course I am willing to discuss them if someone else wants to take ownership over this feature request. :-)

GCC's sanitize flags (invoked directly with -fsanitize) can be really useful during the debugging process.
