Great stuff thanks :-)  I will ensure that any future code is appropriately licensed and includes headers with copyright notices.

Hi!

Thank you for your submission. I'm accepting your project, welcome on board :) Also, when you will produce some code, please remember about our strict requirements:
  - Your code shouldn't depend on any non-free software.
  - It should contain proper licensing headers and copyright notices.
  - It should be released under free (as in FSF definition) license.

Thanks,
Tomasz

Here are some URLs to information about the effort:

http://elinux.org/Create_Open_Source_PowerVR_GPU_driver

Part of the work we need to do is centralise some of the disparate information.  Hopefully a Savannah project will provide a space for doing so.

Registration Administration

While this item will be useful to track the registration process, approving or discarding the registration must be done using the specific Group Administration page, accessible only to site administrators, effectively logged as site administrators (superuser):

Registration Details

  • Name: PowerVR SGX GPU
  • System Name:  powervr
  • Type: non-GNU software & documentation
  • License: Other (N/A; no code as yet)

Description:

This ultimate goal of this project is to provide free software support for the PowerVR SGX GPU commonly used in many SoC systems.  Reverse engineering the processor is the primary initial step due to lack of support from manufacturers.

Other Software Required:

N/A

Other Comments:

No code yet exists; the project requires a mailing list immediately in order to coordinate reverse-engineering efforts.  Eventually code will be released under a free software license (that is the goal of the project).
