Hi,

are you still planning to use Savannah for your project? If not, please tell us--this will make us gain some time to review other projects.

Best regards.

Hi,

the files you attached are fine. However, the license headers say "GPL v3 or later", while you specified "GPL v2 or later" for this project in the submission.

Please choose what to do, so that your project will be created correctly:

  • You change the license headers to say GPL v2 or later
  • I create your project changing the license field to GPL v3 or later (must be done by administrators)

Best regards.

Hi,

Please include a (perhaps temporary) URL pointing to the source code. Alternatively, you can forward the code to me by email or attach it to this tracker.

We wish to review your source code, even if it is not functional, to catch potential legal issues early.

For example, to release your program properly under the GNU GPL you must include a copyright notice and permission-to-copy statements at the beginning of every copyrightable file, usually any file more than 10 lines long. This is explained in http://www.gnu.org/licenses/gpl-howto.html. Our review would help catch potential omissions such as these.

Note that sending code to our repositories is a release, since the code will then be publicly available through anonymous access.

Regards.

Registration Details

  • Name: dblinkfs
  • System Name: dblinkfs
  • Type: Official GNU software
  • License: GNU General Public License v2 or later

Description:

dblinkfs - stores some file's attributes of whole file system (like inodes, file names, file sizes, etc.) in small database (similar to mlocate but stores not only file names and don't periodical scan). This guarantees very fast file browsing, searching (include regexp) and other features. Database updates if any cause (event) of i/o file operation occurs only. No need to scan directories periodically.

Other Comments:

FEATURES:
-Very fast file browsing.
-Very fast file search (by size, name etc., include regexp).
-Very quick showing directories size.
-Very small program size and cpu usage.
-Increasing file system (fs) reliability due to the actual duplication of it's structure.
-Using various sums (like crc, md5, sha, ...), stored as a separate field of file properties in database.
-Possibility of quick coping and backuping of all file (directory) structure.
-No need to periodically directory scan (like it do mlocatedb).
-Increases devices lifetime due reducing of an i/o operations amount.
-Planned to be cross-platform.
