Ok thanks!

I will add the license header inside the README.txt file. Anyway, I will try to solve the other issues too.

Thanks!

Antonio

Hi Antonio,

Most issues have been resolved, but there are a couple of minor points remaining:

  • The README file should also have the license header (preferably at the end, as a footer).
  • For the PHP files (and others), you should use the official GNU header, as recommended in the GPL howto. These are the EasyGiant files you refer to.
  • All files in the tarball should be contained in a directory with the same name, in this case h-source_0.1.
  • Distributing EasyGiant along with h-source may not be the best idea, since updates may need to be done jointly. Also it seems that the directories for both are a bit mixed. I would suggest letting users download both and letting them know how to combine them, although it may need a serious redesign.

There is no urge to complete them, however (only the first one is mandatory, and it is quite minor). I am approving the project now. Welcome, and have fun!

I've approved your project--welcome on board! :-)

You'll receive a mail notification with further instructions shortly.

Happy hacking!

I've uploaded the tarball at
https://sourceforge.net/projects/h-source/

I've created a README.txt file

I've modified the headers of the h-source files (but not the headers of the EasyGiant package. The EasyGiant headers will be changed in the next version of EasyGiant).

Let me know if I have to carry out some other modifications

Antonio

Sorry, a tarball of the project ;)

sorry, it was a matter of time.. Some files need further specifications about copyright matters and I have to add them. Anyway, I would suggest not to modify the headers of the files that are part of the EasyGiant framework since they are part of a different project. The EasyGiant files are inserted in the "Library", "Config" , "Application/Hooks", "Application/Modules" and "Application/Strings" folders (even if the files inserted in the Application folder could be modified by the user of the framework). Moreover, the EasyGiant headers will change in the future since the X11 license will be added next to the GPL license (you can find here the new headers http://easygiant.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/easygiant/Library/ArrayExt.php?revision=80&view=markup. This is the svn version of EasyGiant). h-source currently depends on EasyGiant 0.4.0.
I will add the right headers to all the files that are part of h-source, for example the files inside the "Application/Controllers", "Application/Views", "Allications/Models", "Application/Include" folders. And you are right, also tables.sql and some javascript files need the right headers. This could require some days.

>This is just a recommendation: you don't have a README or similar in the top level. A new user like me would not know what to do with the project once downloaded, and unless your audience is going to be exclusively experts in the EasyGiant framework.

I would like to write a README.txt file as soon as possible in order to explain how to use the software. A will try to write something during the next days. Anyway, if you want to test the software you can open the Config/Config.php file and set the database parameters (you can find here some explanations http://www.easygiant.org/learn/index/7) (you have also to create the database using the tables.sql file). You have to modify the Application/Include/params.php file if you want that the system could send e-mails. I know that the project is currently not well documented, I hope to start a tutorial as soon as possible

>Finally a silly detail: in h-source-copyright.txt you refer to COPYRIGHT.txt, but this file is not present; I assume you mean License.txt.

This is weird! Perhaps the svn checkout has forgotten some files. The file is  here http://h-source.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/h-source/trunk/h-source/  :P

I will upload the file at sourceforge as soon as possible

thanks!

Antonio

Hi again,

Let us go for the review process. Licensing for external projects and icons is carefully specified. However, there are a few issues with your submission:

  • Several files (like tables.sql or Public/Js/functions.js lack the copyright header. They have to be unequivocally placed under the GPL using the recommended header.
  • Others have non-standard headers, such as index.php or Library/ArrayExt.php.
  • This is just a recommendation: you don't have a README or similar in the top level. A new user like me would not know what to do with the project once downloaded, and unless your audience is going to be exclusively experts in the EasyGiant framework.
  • Finally a silly detail: in h-source-copyright.txt you refer to COPYRIGHT.txt, but this file is not present; I assume you mean License.txt.

Can you solve these issues so we can continue with the review process? You may upload a new tarball somewhere (possibly SourceForge) or just let us know and we will download it again. Thanks!

Alex.

I can't upload the tarball because it exceeds the value of 512 kB

"after insertion of the required escape characters"

what does this mean?

A tarball with the files from the folder would be fine, thank you. No need to remove the .svn directories.

Hi Alex,

at the moment there is no a stable version of h-source but only the files in the SVN server. All the files of h-source are inside the /trunk/h-source folder of the SVN tree (svn co https://h-source.svn.sourceforge.net/svnroot/h-source/trunk/h-source). If I gave you a tarball then I would send you the files inside that folder (a part from the .svn folders). I can do so if you prefer.

thanks

Antonio

Hi Antonio,

I am reviewing your submission on behalf of Savannah. I see that you do not provide a tarball, but a link to SourceForge; but there are no files there either, I would need to checkout everything using SVN. It would be much more convenient if you could attach a tarball with the source (or whatever you intend to distribute from Savannah; can it be done? Otherwise I might download some files which are stale.

Thanks, Alex.
