Hi,

There are some issues pending from the project registration
process. Is the project in Savannah ready for review?

Thanks!

Of course, you can use whatever version control system you prefer. Personally I would recommend a distributed system; I use git and it is very nice. Let me know when you have something to review, OK?

Hi Florent,

The main concerns are not addressed in this release: HOWTO.txt does not have the license header, and examples/texture.png is not listed in the README.txt along with author and license information. Please note that this is done so that everyone redistributing the package can have clear copyright assignments for every package, and making license audits (such as for GNU/Linux distributions) easier.

However, this task has been stalled for too long so I am approving the submission as is so you can work on it in the source version control of your choice from within Savannah. I am leaving the task open until then; let us know when everything is solved, OK?

Welcome, and have fun!

I've approved your project--welcome on board! :-)

You'll receive a mail notification with further instructions shortly.

Hi Alex,

Sorry for delay too.

I've made a second tarball where I try to correct accordingly with the
suggestions you made in your first email.

Please tell me if this second tarball fills the criteria for a project to be
hosted on Savannah.

Hi,

Sorry for delay.

Are you still planning to use Savannah? If not, please tell
us--this will make us gain some time to review other projects.

Hi Florent,

Please excuse the long delay. I am evaluating your submission on behalf of Savannah, and there are a few issues that need addressing before we can move along with it:

  • A few files do not have the license header, such as HOWTO.txt and README.txt.
  • Also, the file texture.png does not have a license attached; it would be best if all binary files and the appropriate license are listed in the README.
  • As a convenience, you might consider placing all source code inside a folder (called e.g. src/); the sooner your project is organized the better.
  • Also, allow me to suggest the GPL license for the project; it helps ensure that everyone using the code shares their improvements. But this is of course up to you.

Could you upload a corrected tarball and let us know? Thanks!

Alex.

Registration Administration

While this item will be useful to track the registration process, approving or discarding the registration must be done using the specific Group Administration page, accessible only to site administrators, effectively logged as site administrators (superuser):

Registration Details

  • Name: gln
  • System Name: gln
  • Type: non-GNU software & documentation
  • License: X11 license

Description:

GLN is an OpenGL utility library providing to the C programmers a set of functions for geometric object rendering.

One GLN characteristic is that GLN implementation is "legacy-free" or in other words "forward-compatible". Indeed it uses VBOs and GLSL (Vertex Buffer Object and OpenGL Shading Language), and does not use any deprecated OpenGL functions as the equivalent functions from Glu and Glut does.

Other Software Required:

The only dependency is an OpenGL implementation, as for example Mesa.

The examples have an extra dependency for windowing which is the C API of the SFML (The SFML is released under the zlib/libpng license).
