Hi,

I am waiting for an answer from you.

If within two weeks I still do not get a reply, I will remove
your project.  You will still be able to register it again once
you have the time to deal with the registration issues.

Are you still willing to host your project at Savannah? If not,
please tell us--we don't bite, and it will make us gain time.

--
Regards.

Hi Henrik,

Apparently S5 is now in the public domain, so you might reconsider your project now. Are you still interested?

Hi,

Sorry for delay.

Are you still planning to use Savannah?  If not, please tell
us--this will make us gain some time to review other projects.

Regards.

I wasn't completely sure about the licensing of the images and the makefile. The presentation states, on the last slide, that "these slides, this talk, and audio/video recordings thereof are under a Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 United States License", but doesn't say anything explicitly about license and copyright of the images.

The makefile is included in a tarball linked to as "source code of these slides", but it isn't explicitly stated if it is to be considered part of "these slides" for the purposes of the license notice.

If those notices aren't clear enough, there is nothing I can do to clarify them, since I don't have any additional information to go on. Anything I could add would just be a possibly inaccurate extrapolation.

So please go ahead and delete the submission.

Hi.

I'm evaluating the project you submitted for approval in GNU Savannah.
You can reach the rest Savannah hackers (Staff) in this list:
http://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/savannah-hackers-public.

I noticed some issues with the tarball you submited:

Some text files don't include the propper copyright & licensing
information.  Please add the copyright notices acording to
http://www.gnu.org/prep/maintain/html_node/Copyright-Notices.html and
the license notice acording to the license of each file.  For files in
the public domain use something like this:

This file is in the public domain

This file has been written and modified by ... who disclaim
  copyright.

In the same manner the images must have a clear copyright status, just
as the rest files.  Please add a README file where you state the
license and copyright notice of the images and other files than can't
contain comments inside, if any.

Please fix this issues and provide a updated tarball.  You can either
attach it to the tracker or use an external hosting and provide a
direct download URL.

Registration Administration

While this item will be useful to track the registration process, approving or discarding the registration must be done using the specific Group Administration page, accessible only to site administrators, effectively logged as site administrators (superuser):

Registration Details

  • Name: S5-audio
  • System Name:  s5-audio
  • Type: non-GNU software & documentation
  • License: GNU General Public License v3 or later (Includes presentation slides licensed under Creative Commons Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 US and the original S5 code which is in the public domain.)

Description:

S5-audio is an extension of S5, the Simple Standards-based Slide Show System, which is a system written by Eric Meyer for making slide shows in HTML, CSS and JavaScript. This extension adds the capability to include audio (such as a recording of the presentation) and synchronize the slides to that.

Other Software Required:

Just a web browser. Mozilla Firefox is the primary focus.

Other Comments:

I chose to interpret the first checklist item as "doesn't primarily run on non-free systems" since JavaScript runs equally well on almost any OS.
