Hi Mario,

I have added the license text to all files in docs/ and uploaded the result to the git repository. Adding comments to the file ebnf.inc, however, doesn't seem to be possible, because that's included in the other documentation in verbatim. Since the file is fairly short, though, it feels alright to omit licensing information in that one case. I'll merge the separate parts into one large document ASAP anyway, then ebnf.inc will disappear, and then all files will have the full license text.

Take care,
Peter

I will approve the project since now, but one thing is left (See
below).

The url for varexp is (HTTP or HTTPS) sv.gnu.org/p/varexp, after
checked, the selected features may take up to an hour to become fully
active, Then please upload the code to the VCS of your choise and let
me know when you have fixed the issue below, so I can mark the
submission task as finished.

What about the doc/*.inc files?.  I think they have the enougth lenght
and "complexity" to be copyrightable, and therefore should have
licensing information too.

If the .inc format support comments please add the copyright
information as comments, but if not, put a README file in the /doc
directory containing something like this:

This licensing information is valid for the follwing list of files:

docs/
docs/looping.inc
docs/ebnf.inc
docs/operations-on-variables.inc
docs/quoted-pairs.inc
docs/index.xml
docs/readme.xml
docs/license.inc
docs/variable-expressions.inc
docs/arrays-of-variables.inc
docs/user-manual.xml
docs/purpose.inc

Hi Mario,

I've attached a new tarball with the updated source code. All files have an up-to-date license disclaimer now. The license disclaimer has also been added to all XML files in the docs directory, which is where the rest of the files is generated from.

Thanks for pointing out that I choose the license field incorrectly. I wasn't aware of the difference.

I hope everything is alright now.

Take care,
Peter

Hi.

Please add the the appropiate copyright and license notice to all non
trivial files (> 10 lines long).  I've attached an script (SHA
ed15d726cbf4f7e9196153ae17549e130b6bb39a) that will do it for the .cc
and .hh files, but for README, libvarexp.html and both Makefile.am
(one in root and other in /tests) you should add them by hand.

Also, please note that you aren't using the Revised BSD license but a
ISC-like license, see
http://www.gnu.org/licenses/license-list.html#ISC.  As you replaced
"and/or" to "and" there is no longer ambiguity AFIK, I will correct
the "License" field once approved.

Regards.

Registration Administration

While this item will be useful to track the registration process, approving or discarding the registration must be done using the specific Group Administration page, accessible only to site administrators, effectively logged as site administrators (superuser):

Registration Details

  • Name: Variable Expression Library
  • System Name:  varexp
  • Type: non-GNU software & documentation
  • License: Modified BSD License

Description:

Varexp is a C++ library that allows its users to separate information and from the representation of that information by providing a simple-to-use but powerful text-template mechanism. Similar mechanisms have been available in tools like sh(1), make(1), or perl(1) forever and have proven to be very useful. The basic idea is that the relevant information is made available in variables, which the author of the template can than use within the text itself as he sees fit.
