I don’t know why this is posted here, but the issue is that by default LaTeX prints a page number, so the ink extent includes that.

Add the line:

\pagenumbering{gobble}%

just after the \documentclass invocation.

I am trying to but latex into my web forum and I am using
miktex. I have noticed in the bin directory of miktex that their
is a program dvipng which converts dvi to png images.

However my only problem is the size of the image.

For example I have the test.tex

\documentclass{article}
\begin{document}
$\sqrt{x} = 5$ is $x=25$.
$\sum \int \sqrt{x} \sqrt[n]{x} \frac{a}{b} \oint \prod \coprod
\frac{\partial{f}}{\partial{x}} \lim_{a \rightarrow b}$
\end{document}

which I then compile to a dvi file using latex test.tex.

Then I do dvipng -T tight -o test_image_name.gif test.dvi
which gives me a image with alot of white space at the bottom.
This could be caused by the bottom right 1 in the image.
How do you get rid of it and the space?

Thanks for any help
