I've just added listing of multiple cgit links in #devtools on group's main page and on the "Use Git" page.

The top menu hasn't changed, but I don't think we should list all repositories there.

Oh! Now I understand. Sorry. I was missing the obvious. It wasn't the source code access sections but links to the cgit source code browser sections.

I think you were being clear enough in your descriptions. I just wasn't understanding it on my end. Sorry. Now Karl's comment makes sense to me and I agree with his assessment of it.

Bob, the summary of this sr might be bad, but my intention was to report that the "Source code" navigation menu only links to the web-git of the first repository, not the 2nd (as Karl stated in comment #3). I know the 2nd rep is listed on the page you cited (although that page also only links to the git-web of 'lwip', not of 'lwip-contrib').

Sorry if I haven't been clear enough there.

That being said, I noticed there are other projects that might want this (e.g. emacs has a 2nd git, too).

As to the "unnamed" bug, I think it has always been like that since moving from CVS to git...

Start at the Savannah project page:

https://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/lwip

Select the [Source code] link from the navigation menu.

https://savannah.nongnu.org/projects/lwip/#devtools

Select [Source Code Manager: Git Repository] from the list.  Find yourself at this page:

https://savannah.nongnu.org/git/?group=lwip

It contains this content:

Getting a Copy of the Git Repository

Note: this group has multiple Git repositories.

Anonymous clone:

lwIP - A Lightweight TCPIP stack
git clone git://git.savannah.nongnu.org/lwip.git

Unnamed repository; edit this file 'description' to name the repository.
git clone git://git.savannah.nongnu.org/lwip/lwip-contrib.git
Member clone:

lwIP - A Lightweight TCPIP stack
git clone rwp@git.sv.gnu.org:/srv/git/lwip.git

Unnamed repository; edit this file 'description' to name the repository.
git clone rwp@git.sv.gnu.org:/srv/git/lwip/lwip-contrib.git

Note that the "Unnamed repository;" in the above is a separate bug. It should read the description. The cron that gathers up the descriptions is apparently broken in the migration to the new web server. It is on our list to fix. When fixed it will show the correct description.

> When I look at the "Browse Sources Repository" page I see that it lists the lwip-contrib too.

Now I don't get that. When I open the "Browse Sources Repository" it brings me to "http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/lwip.git" which is our primary sources repository. How do I get to "http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/lwip/lwip-contrib.git" from there?

Also, the "Source code" -> "Use git" page lists the "lwip-contrib" git but there is no link to the web-git.

Anyway, as I said in comment #4: given the limited time of people working on this and due the fact that having more than one git repository per project does not seem to be used often, it's OK for me to close this.

I still don't understand.  When I look at the "Browse Sources Repository" page I see that it lists the lwip-contrib too.  It also says "Note: this group has multiple Git repositories." right at the top.  Looks like it is listing multiple repositories to me.

Note that if you go to the top level web page of cgit or gitweb you get an index of repositories: (be patient as the full listing is a slow operation)

http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/

You can scroll down through the list and see both lwip and lwip-contrib in the list.  Or you can type lwip into the search box and search for it.  The result of the search will show both lwip and lwip-contrib in the results.

Hey, thanks for your answers!

I was mainly thinking about the menu on the top: "Source code" -> "Browse Sources Repository", which links to "lwip". "lwip-contrib" is not linked from anywhere but my self-written "Main" page.

I wouldn't have thought it's source code changes. In that case, even if I could find the time to contribute, I'd rather not change the sources to add this: seems like we're the only one needing it and I'm not sure it's worth adding complexity for this...

bob - i surmise the wish is for lwip-contrib to have a link  https://savannah.nongnu.org/git/?group=lwip. right now, there is only "browse sources repository" going to lwip.git.

simon - the answer is, as far as i know, it will take additional (presumably not very heavy) development to do this. patches are welcome. unless assaf happens to have already done this.  -k

In answer to your question asking if anyone is reading these bugs the answer is no.  As you are probably aware there are very few Savannah volunteers.  The biggest need is arguably project submission reviews and bug triage.  I will go and take this but I don't know what you are asking, which is probably why I didn't take it before.

In answer to your other question, I don't understand.

http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/lwip/lwip-contrib.git

http://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/lwip.git

http://web.cvs.savannah.gnu.org/viewvc/lwip/?root=lwip

All three of the lwip repositories are browsable through the web.  What are you asking??

Is anyone reading this?

The lwip project has 3 repositories ('lwip', 'lwip-contrib' and the CVS project for the web pages). While 'lwip' and the CVS project for web pages are accessible via the 'source code' menu on the project page, 'lwip-contrib' is not.

Is there any way to add this repository to the web pages?
