João here,

Managed to register on Gna! using the same standard procedure. Validation worked to I decided to try it here and worked! Im finally a registered user.

If you did nothing on your part I have no idea what caused the problem, but Im in now.

I am still interested in someone helping met setup a local Savane/Savannah (all features are definitively not necessary). http://download.gna.org/savane-doc/savane-install-guide-HTML/

You can finally mark it as done!
Thank you Karl for your time and patience!

sorry, i don't know where/how the pending user confirmations are stored, even to the point of enabling one of them.  there is no also no obvious (to me) way of creating an account through our administrator interface.  like i said, it would take me extensive research to do any of this and i can't undertake it right now.  i hope someone else can come forward to help.  otherwise, i guess it will just have to wait.  it's incomprehensible to me why you are the only person whose account creation is failing.

as for creating a local forge, my suggestion would be to see if savane is still being developed (which is not happening here) and if so, maybe they can help.  of course there are also plenty of non-savane forges, if you're not wanting to do something savane-specific (what?); fusionforge is the one i came across last.

as for the info in your earlier post, i can't see how it exposes anything problematic, and it may be helpful in debugging (and it's not easy to delete, either), so i hope it's ok to leave it.

sorry,
karl

João here.

Thanks for the reply Karl. Already tryed again and same problem. Can you help me out in finding a solution?

1- I exposed a lot of email/confirmation hash info on my OP, it would be great if someone edited it or anonymised the whole post. Since I am afraid it can be used against me.

2- Do you know anyone who could help me get a "local savannah" running? I have a CS background so I could do a lot of work on my end.

3- I still want to set up an account here, could you maybe find a way of creating an account for me and handing it over?

Any other suggestion would be great, "trying again" did not work. What variable should I change? Already done password/username/email/time.

Thank you all in advance

Hi Joao.  Sorry for your troubles.  I'm afraid I am going to be of no help, but I at least wanted to send some kind of reply.  I had hoped someone else would be able to look into it.  Michael?  As far as I know, there is no general problem with creating accounts.  Which doesn't help you but I don't know where to look without extensive research, which I simply cannot undertake right now.  All I can suggest is the frustrating "just try again".

As for XAMPP, I do not even know what that is.  The current Savane code might be on github, or it might not; I don't know what's going on with savane, that is (was?) being developed separately ever since Sylvain left Savannah.

The code that actually runs on Savannah is in the "administration" project here (savannah.gnu.org/p/administration), but sadly, the bare code still leaves you far from a running setup.  I wouldn't even know where to start.

Sorry,
Karl

In the past 24h I have created two account at Savannah, but I have fail to validate them both.

diasruptor/joao.moreira.dias@gmail.com/confirm_hash=56164707b96a7087
and
joaomoreiradias/johnnydias1@gmail.com/confirm_hash=aa7086a57dda48ce

After following the links emailed to be I went to the verify page on Savannah and logged and all my many log-in attempts get shut down with a "Wrong Password" message. I used various methods of inputting my information so I am assure I am in fact inputting the correct information.

I would like to use Savannah in the near future but I can't seem to get a log-in created and validated.

And another thing...
I would like to create a personal experimentation project based on the Savannah/Savane platform. I used GitHub to download the source material of Savane but I can't seem to get it to work under XAMPP. Is there a guide/specific order to fork the platform? Or are my error related to other external factors?

If you need more information or details, feel free to contact me at this address!

Thank you in advance!
