I don't think we can arrange this on the savannah side.  Asking sysadmins, will cc you.

Hi!

The project rename went fine, finally, except one thing that I noticed now: the old web pages are still there.  Could you setup a redirect so that everything at and below

http://www.nongnu.org/hotp-toolkit/

goes to http://www.nongnu.org/oath-toolkit/ ?

In particular it would be nice if the old link http://www.nongnu.org/hotp-toolkit/oath-toolkit/ is redirected properly, it is still the first hit on google for 'OATH Toolkit'.

/Simon

Thanks Sylvain.

Simon, I re-attached the renamed list to the project.

Let us know if problems ...

There's only one MySQL database in the whole infrastructure, and it's accessible from all the VMs, but the preferred way to access it for maintenance is through the 'internal' VM.  The password is pre-configured in ~/.my.cnf, no need to type it.

Ok, renamed to oath-toolkit-help, let us know if problems.  I did not try to post a test message.

Sylvain, I don't have enough context (which vm, which sql user, passwords. ...) to be able to run the sql command that http://savannah.gnu.org/maintenance/RenamingProjectGroup says is needed to reconnect the list to the sv project:
UPDATE mail_group_list SET list_name='oath-toolkit-help' WHERE list_name='hotp-toolkit-help';

Please help ... thanks.

oath-toolkit-help is fine, I may want to add a oath-toolkit-auto or similar for automated commit messages and automated build reports eventually.

Mm, one more question, do you want oath-toolkit-help, or maybe just oath-toolkit?

No problem, please rename the list.  I have posted a notice about this to the list just now.

It can be renamed; that's something even I have done :).  Do you care about preserving the old name (links in the archive)?  I hope not ...

Thank you!

The mailing list was not renamed -- is that even possible to do, or should I create a new one, move the subscribers, and delete the old one?

LOL Karl :)
I've never been confident with that "script" since it can potentially do very bad things as root.

Done :)

Simon: OK?

Hi Simon -- renaming project identifiers is possible but not easy.  The documentation (mainly directed to sv admins) at http://savannah.gnu.org/maintenance/RenamingProjectGroup is filled with so many caveats and warnings about having to know everything that I have never dared do it myself.

In your case, can you come up with a different meaning for the original initials :)?

Failing that ... Sylvain?

To be clear, I'm talking about renaming all the "short" project names like the web page URL, the savannah project itself, the git repository, etc.  Renaming the title of the project I can do myself, but it isn't enough.

Hi!  Is it possible to rename projects?  In my project "HOTP Toolkit" we have realized that we want to rename it to the "OATH Toolkit" to have slightly broader scope.  If it is possible, please go ahead and rename the project.
