I've applied http-equiv solution, so you can mark this issue as solved. But I think that it will be good to have .htaccess support anyway, not only in this case.

Thank you for support.

Real HTTP headers are much better than http-equiv. http-equiv looks just like refreshing page.

I think that it will be good if you'll switch on .htaccess, not for this case but for other Savannah users too.

Hi Alexey,

I have now contacted sysadmin for information on this point. However, after having a glance at the Apache documentation I am quite sure it is still a security problem. This is due to the fact that enabling the 'Redirect' directive would also enable a lot of other stuff we probably do not want enabled.

I am also curious about what the problem with using http-equiv is. Could you please elaborate on that?

I will let you know once I have a reply.

Regards,

Stephan

1. I told Stephan, not you :) If sysadmin@ is notified w/o us knowing this can't be good. Did you already do so?
2. Read The Fine Faq - https://savannah.gnu.org/maintenance/DownloadArea

1. Thanks, I'll contact sysadmin.
2. Could you explain me, how should I release packages in the download area?

sp: can you see with -email is unavailable- about it?

Alexey: I see that you put your downloads in the CVS webpages repository. Would you mind moving them to your project download area? (CVS and the webpages box are not meant for downloads)

http-equiv is a bad idea. Is it possible to send real HTTP headers?..

Hi Alexey,

I am afraid that we do not provide .htaccess support for security reasons. See https://savannah.gnu.org/maintenance/HomePage for more information.

However, you can do the redirection using the HTML meta tag.
Adding "<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=http://beshenov.ru/mpfrcpp/">" inside your index.html's <head> section should actually do the trick.

Please let me know if this fixes your problem or if you need anything else.

Regards,

Stephan

Hi!

My project MPFRCPP has a homepage located at http://www.nongnu.org/mpfrcpp/. I wish to move to the http://beshenov.ru/mpfrcpp/. Could you help me to add redirection:

http://www.nongnu.org/mpfrcpp/index.html --> http://beshenov.ru/mpfrcpp/

The only 'index.html' requests need to be redirected. I've tried Apache's .htaccess, but it seems that something wrong...
