Hi.

Sorry for the delay. I disabled delivery to the 'heartlogic-dev' mailing list.

Hello,

I am sending the list maintainers the archive link and the link to this request. I believe the way you are de-activating the list is what they were looking in the beginning. Their request for an archive came, I think, from a belief that the list would be removed  and they wouldn't have access to the archive.
In the future I will tell maintainers that I am opening a request with Savannah, I will cc to them and they can make any request about archiving etc through the help request process.
Regards,

Hi,

We do not wish to remove mailing lists archives unless there is a good reason for it. People may want to browse them, maybe there are links to them in other webpages.

In general we simply desactive the list, that is, it rejects messages at the MTA level, but the list stays active, along with the archives, and can be reactivated later if needed.

It would be good to ask the list maintainers to take contact with us, so we can have a direct exchange to clarify such issues. Can you do that for the next lists (if any? :))

To get a copy of a public mailing list archives, see https://savannah.gnu.org/faq/?group_id=5802&question=Mail_-_Where_can_I_retreive_mailing_lists_mboxes.txt

I do not know if this is the appropriate place for me to add on to the request. This is new to me so please excuse my ignorance. I sent in the original request. I am following up on the archiving aspect of the request.
The list owner is inquiring if it is possible for an archive of the mailing list be kept here but if it was at all possible for him to have a copy of the archive as well.
        Thank you,
             T.J. Bryan

As a volunteer for GNU, I worked on clearing mailing lists with large queques under the  direction of Karl Berry. After clearing the list, I was asked to contact the owners and obtain the status of the list.
With the list heartlogic-dev, Joshua Pritiken stated the list could be closed. He also stated a desire, if possible, to keep the mailing list archive.
Now that I am writing this I see that I should have made another inquiry to clarify. I do not know if he means for gnu.org to hold the archive or if he is suggesting a way where he could obtain the archive.
For now I am putting in a request to remove the list and to not delete the archive. I apologize for leaving an issue up in the air, I will contact J. Pritiken and clarify.
Below is J.P.'s reply to my initial query.

                    Thank You,
                    T.J. Bryan

The heartlogic project can probably be closed at this point. Current
development is done with GIT so I don't really need project hosting
anymore. It would be nice to keep the mailing list archive though.
