These symbols are usually defined in base C headers. If you
have found a POSIX (or other kind) system that does not define
them, please tell us.

As far as I can see, these two functions are not defined on Solaris 9 or on Linux.

A possible solution is to remove or comment out #ifdef WIN32 in private.h, line 117.
