GNU fdisk is a new project that aims to replace Linux fdisk (with a fully compatible one, lfdisk, and one with greater functionality, gfdisk) and Linux cfdisk.
Replacing Linux sfdisk is also a possibility, but has only secondary priority.
The project will help you getting familiar with partitioning concepts and libparted, and maybe also with porting (GNU fdisk should be compilable and runnable on as many operating system environments as possible).
Solid C knowledge is required, but nothing more.
