This software is part of the GNU Project.

GNU Solfege is free eartraining software written in python. The program is designed to be easily extended with lessonfiles (data files), so the user can create new exercises.

The last stable release, 3.22.2, is made from the code in the bazaar repository. This code is based on PyGTK and Gtk+ 2.

The develeopment branch is moved to the git repository, and ported to use Gtk+ 3 and the introspection modules. This port is mostly complete. It just needs some more testing and polishing.

Details (job description, contact ...):

GNU Solfege is an ear training program written to help you train intervals, chords, scales and rhythms. The program is indented to help music students with their ear training.

The program is written in Python 2.5 (23000 lines), and with optional ALSA/OSS/Win32 drivers written in C.

GNU Solfege has mostly been a one-man project, and I (tca@gnu.org) don't have the time and interest to be the maintainer any more. I will be around, and probably do some programming from time to time, and answer some questions.
