Hi,
printf \x is an extension found in bash (and perhaps other shells), but not dash. When using dash as the system shell, I get one XPASS in the last release, one FAIL with sources from git, and other tests give the expected results but don't test what they should. Octal escape sequences should work on any shell (see `man 1p printf`), this patch updates the tests to use them.
Cheers,
Harald
